NSD today - I took my friend to hospital then I went and did a few jobs with best friend that he needed to get done. Collected friend from hospital then chatted and drank coffee until it was time for work. I'm still working now but looked after person has had his dinner and is watching tv. He goes home in 15 minutes then when I come back home I've promised to look over the HT's wish list of clothes on Shein. I think that he's showing me just to be polite as he want's to show his partner too and see what he thinks. Partner's opinion obviously counts way more than mine does.
I've paid £13.61 off my loan today. £10.18 from Prolific and the rest from my savings account to make the loan balance an even figure. I've seen other people on here making balances into even numbers and that appeals to me as another way of shaving bits off the balances here and there.2 -
So, in the interests of owing round numbers instead of odd I have paid £7.49 off one of my cards and £7.89 off the other. No idea why I didn't think of this sooner. It's part of the tidying up process I suppose.
Today will be planned spends. I need a bag of stones/chippings/whatever to go on top of weed proof matting in the front garden. I only have a tiny flower bed out there and it gets very hot in summer so anything planted other than the roses that are already there just dies except for the weeds. The weeds are living a happy little life and breeding well but the garden looks a state and I'm fed up of it. I have a willing victim helper today in the form of the House Troll so I won't need to lift the bag of chippings on my own.3 -

Have you looked at the Tilly Tidy challenge? I'm just rounding on my pots and personal spends and using it as a small overpayment at the end of each month. Some people have saved hundreds but I'm just plodding.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

Thanks @WinterWarrior. Don't be too impressed, the gardening has nearly killed me. 10 bags of blue slate chippings later..... @Naomim no, I don't think challenges work for me. I'm the kind of person who picks up a challenge and automatically does the opposite.0

Today will definitely be a spendy day. I am taking the teens out to lunch, we all have a few things on our purchase wish list and I am hoping to end the day in bed with my new books and a bottle of prosecco 😁 I still have 2/3 of a flower bed to finish off in the front garden but the shrubs need pruning before I can do that so it will have to wait until tomorrow.
The HT has bought me this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Womans-Garden-beautiful-plants-useful/dp/0760368406 by someone that I've followed on facebook for a long time (she used to have the same kind of cat as ours so we chatted about cats a lot). I'm really looking forward to reading it.
I had a message from the bank - my extra payment of £13.61 has saved me £5.98 in interest. Happy with that.1 -
I used to be terrible with the challenges in that I'd join loads and try to do it all then wondered why I was so overdrawn and where my money had gone!
I haven't managed any gardening as it's been too bloody wet!Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again0 -

Yesterday was indeed a spendy day but the HT has new trainers (first pair in 2 years), some new t shirts and a new shirt. I had a new book (read it last night), some supplies from Hotel Chocolat and birthday lunch in Byrons. We came home satisfied with our shopping expedition and tired. I use my credit card for shop purchases but I've sent the money over to pay for what we spent. I'd been saving up for lunch and because I thought the HT would probably need some clothes at some point. He hasn't had new clothes other than school uniform for about 18 months so no complaints.3
