HIGH COURT FOR CHANNEL 5  ... CAN'T PAY, WE'LL TAKE IT AWAY ?

The programme that DCBL boast about on their letterheads ..... bit of a damp squib

A 'damp squib' is something that fails ignominiously to satisfy expectations; an anti-climax, a disappointment.

Don't be sucked in by the letterhead folks

Channel 5 bosses have apologised and paid damages to a woman featured in an episode of a television programme called Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away!, a High Court judge has been told.

Adanna Clarke took legal action against Channel 5 Broadcasting after complaining about the misuse of her private information.

It rather sums the whole outfit up in that they seem far less keen on tackling a traveller than they do a single mother!

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I wonder if her landlord got any of it?

I have often wondered why so many people agree to be filmed on this programme.

    DCBL ...... WARNING ???

As we know, DCBL are currently chasing old parking tickets from Highview parking and CP Plus AKA GROUP NEXUS

Members here are now receiving the following letter from DCBL

    QUESTION:
Who was legally entitled to drive at the time the ticket was issued?
    Supply your insurance certificate ?

ANSWER:  It is far too long ago to remember just as a judge will not remember
The insurance certificate is not applicable as the answer will be the same

    QUESTION:
How many people drove your vehicle at the time of charge ?

ANSWER:  As per my answer above

    END OF RESPONSE ?

They are threatening cross examination and warn of contempt of court.

But, as they bring up the issue of "contempt", you can take it to that level by asking the judge about the fake amount they have added which is "double recovery" and against the Supreme court ruling.

This has been signed as a statement of truth by Yasmin Mia ........ that really is contempt of court

    Thanks beamerguy.

I will scream if anyone else posts about that tedious letter.  Nothing is new here.

Some very good news from my end. Readers may have seen my posts about DCBL chasing us for a fine from 4 years ago.
Today, i got a reply from Jonathan Turner and a Barry Cummins of HomesEngland (A govt entity) They stated
"Just to confirm, we've arranged with the parking company to cancel this charge.  :)

    Kind regards
    Jon"
So after 4 years and the last 6 months of been chased by DCBL / UKPC my claim has been vindicated! It just shows if you can find the right people to talk to, they can make a difference. I can not thank the regular posters on this board enough for guiding me and others. It was several on here who said "take no notice of the letter" which after reading was filed in the bin. Someone also suggested that i find the land owner and plead my case to them, and that is exactly what i did, thou it took sometime to find who the correct landowner was. Letters to our MP, emails to councillors, emails to a ex CEO of a investment bank, all led me to find out that Julians Car Park Didcot Park Way is owned by HomesEngland, highlighted so search engine algorithm's can pick it up and help others that have had tickets from UKPC at that venue.
So now i await to see if UKPC formally write to me to say the charge has been cancelled (they got £ on the day for the parking space ) I will also email them and formally ask that all our data held by them is deleted as per GDPR rules.
    Good luck everyone else.

Keep that letter and well done

You should get this confirmed by UKPC.
It is now up to UKPC to tell DCBL that they have been zapped

    PLAN A works ...... UKPC don't have a PLAN A?

Have a quick look on their website, going as if to pay (obviously don't!), to check on the current status of the PCN.

Very good; thanks for posting.  I hope this helps others.  Was it easy to find those names and an email address as well?

Please promise us that you'll come back here and check the posts every week or two, and put your thoughts into the Government Consultation when it opens this Summer.

We will be posting about it when it opens and it'll only be taking comments for 4 weeks, I think.  Please join us, we need real victims to be affirming the MHCLG's planned policy to cap parking charges at a level similar to Local Authorities (lowest level £50, with a 50% discount) and to seize your chance to be heard and ensure that level is applied to your situation and others where the issue is something and nothing.

Or preferably, that no parking charges are issued for minor breaches at all and that PPCs make proper checks.
