DCBL letters ..... forum group thread

Hi I have received a Claim Form from DBCL saying I have parking charge dating back to June 2019.
I am a registered keeper of the car but was not driving and hence parking on that occasion. My Husband tried to park at a Euro Car Park in London. He tried to pay cash or card in three different machines. The machines failed to take his payment. He then moved the car from the Euro Car Park and found another parking. It took him 12 minutes altogether trying to pay different machines and moving the car away. After some time as a keeper I received POC. I have challenged the POC and the Euro Car Park agreed to cancel the penalty. They sent me a letter stating they dismissed the penalty which after five years I can’t find.
Few months ago I started receiving the letters from DBCL. I ignored them as was sure the penalty was cancelled. Now I received the Claim Form dated 30 October 2024. I followed the Newbies thread and did the Service Acknowledgement. I am now doing the Defense and need some advice. Please can somebody help?

You need to start a new thread about your predicament to avoid the confusion that will follow on this thread.
So, start a new thread using your above post and all will be revealed.2 -
Hello, I'm just enquiring about some DBCL letters I have been collecting. I now have 3 and they have increasing levels of severity in the headings.
Specifically they say "Notice of debt recovery", "Final reminder", and most recently "Final notice of debt recovery".
I'm not too concerned about this, but my wife definitely is. Has anyone else collected these letters and know how many threat levels we have to go through?0 -
You have one more - It'll be titled "Notice of intended Legal action unpaid parking charge £XXX.00", don't panic! Honestly they are entirely powerless. Most private parking companies will get them to send 4 letters, before it's then passed to their legal part of the business DCB legal and that is when you will most likely get a LoC from them, it will be equally and deliberately fear-inducing (for the unaccustomed) but again fear not!
Follow the advice on the newbies thread at the top of the forum page, and hold you fast!

We only see the tip of the iceberg here but we know our stuff and these are PERFECTLY SAFE TO IGNORE.
You actually WANT a court claim because that's when DCB Legal give up before hearings. No risk. No bailiffs. No CCJ. No costs. Nothing.
I assume you aren't in Scotland.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello!
I hope I'm commenting on the right forum (I'm new here and not sure how this works, so apologies if I'm wrong!)
I received a final reminder letter from dcbl back in October last year (I actually didn't see this until around January time) I work away a lot for work and this was the first letter I saw. It was for ParkingEye Limited. I paid for parking but over stayed an hour and I now have to pay £170!
Originally when I received the letter I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was so I emailed them and asked for proof relating to this which they sent over.
They've now sent dcb legal "letter of claim" and I'm now worried that because I've been in contact with them that they will go forward with the claim. I just don't see how it's fair to pay £170 when I originally paid for a parking ticket just accidentally went over an hour.
Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thank youPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
