I have moved about 3 times since the PCN was issued but last time I believe I updated my address and married name with them.

    Both DCBL and UKPC.

ETA - I've just checked on DCBLs website through the payment stage, it doesn't look like my reference number is valid any more.
Looks like it might be finished with, but nothing can be guaranteed in this out of control sector. If you want some added peace of mind, please check your credit score to be certain no undefended court claim, resulting in a default judgment, has gone to a former address.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks, I'm in the process of setting up a ClearScore account to check this.

Hi all. Posted on here last year but just wanted to know if I should be worried that I haven't heard anything regarding the PCN they were chasing me for since last July? It was given in early July 2017, so is now over 6 years old. Does that mean it's likely dissolved?
    It's over.

As long as they were using the correct address and no claim went to an old address in time, you won!

  • Hello there, I have received  a letter from DCB Legal ltd on behalf of UK parking control ltd.
It states "this is a formal letter of claim in accordance with the pre-action protocol for debts claims"
" The amount of the debt is £170 which includes the PCN and debt recovery costs. If a claim is issued, further costs will be sought, together with accruing interest at 8% above base rate per annum pursuant to s69 of the County Courts Act 1984"
I have 30 days to make a payment or complete the reply form and financial statement.
Can anyone advise on what to do. So far I have always ignored all the letters received, shall I continue to ignore.
    Thank you

First of all, I suggest you start your own thread. Secondly, please read the second post of the Newbies/FAQ thread where all the steps you need to take are laid out. Thirdly, follow those sterps and you will see that DCB Legal will eventually discontinue.

Have a read of this thread to see what we mean:

DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATION

  • I recieved this today and now panicing about what to do. I thought it was a scam as on the previus letter the web address for where to pay did not work so assumed the website had been shut down.

I was at the motorway services on the date they say i was but did not leave the car as met a friend who had got me a coffee while we sat in the car having a catch up. I did not leave the car so surely this is not classed as parked?

please help as i am now very stressed

You need to start your own thread and give more details about when you received the PCNs and the letter before/of claim and finally the N1 claim form.  Have you moved and not updated your address with DVLA?

You've ignored a court claim that would have been easy to defend and you'd have seen this cancelled in full with no hearing / no payment.

Sadly by ignoring a court claim you MUST now pay the solicitor the full amount (NOT instalments) immediately.

The only way now to avoid a CCJ.  What a shame.   You've lost a case by default that would have been easily cancelled had you defended.
