Do you know what double yellow lines mean?

Contrary to popular (wrong) assumptions by far too many drivers, they do not mean 'no stopping'. Haven't we already said this to you on your thread?

My understanding is that it means no stopping/waiting/parking at anytime. By the sound of your response though, my understanding is wrong.

I don't have a thread yet, must be somebody else where it was mentioned.

It doesn't mean that.  Double reds mean that.

Yes, we had a similar thread earlier this week where another driver also thought what you thought, sorry I assumed this was the same case!

Hi all. Posted on here last year but just wanted to know if I should be worried that I haven't heard anything regarding the PCN they were chasing me for since last July? It was given in early July 2017, so is now over 6 years old. Does that mean it's likely dissolved?

If it is over 6 years old and they haven't as yet filed a court claim **, the Limitations Act 1980 debars them from now issuing proceedings. However, an alleged debt is not 'dissolved' (if you mean not capable of being chased by the creditor, but no longer via the courts), they can chase you until the cows come home. In reality, an extremely unlikely scenario.

** Have you moved address since the commencement of this parking charge case, and if so, did you notify the PPC and DCBL of that address change?  We see this scenario from time to time, with a court claim being made to an old address, no response from the motorist, a judgment in default issued, with the motorist landed with a credit trashing CCJ.

Have you looked the PPC's website to check what it says about the current status of your PCN?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

The last correspondence I received was to my current address last year, where I've lived for over 4 years now. I have moved about 3 times since the PCN was issued but last time I believe I updated my address and married name with them.

I've just checked the PPC website - it says: "
Unfortunately we are unable to accept payment as the parking charge reference number has now been referred to our debt recovery partners"

    Both DCBL and UKPC.

ETA - I've just checked on DCBLs website through the payment stage, it doesn't look like my reference number is valid any more.
