Today I am grateful for being able to get dd's new specs, for lit-up buildings, for being well, for spring bulbs starting to poke through, for simply having so much to be grateful for.

I know what you mean @DrCarrie I have spent pretty much the entire day -when not trying to get kids to do their schoolwork- cleaning the house, as there was literally nothing else to do. It is damp cold outside, so pretty unappealing, the top 2 floors were clean and tidy , but after that it looked like a bomb had hit it, and things were starting to get 'dumped' in corners, so I must have spent 6 hours cleaning and tidying and moving bits back to where they live in the house, and it is still not finished, but it is looking a lot better, I got most of the kitchen under control, until after supper as now there are dishes on every worktop and my motivation has left me. It will still be there tomorrow.I only have a protest placard left to make with DS4 and to record his motivational speech on breaking the law, and to send it to his teacher. Any mention of placards makes me think of Father Ted and Father Dougal's 'Down With This Sort of Thing' and 'Careful Now!' signs.I have scheduled a trip to the supermarket on Monday. Just keep telling yourself how much money you are saving by not going out.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Not done a lot today. I was up very late. I watched two excellent programmes on BBC4 - Dames Judi Dench, Eileen Atkins, Maggie Smith and Joan Plowright answering questions, reminiscing and lots of footage of their careers and a second similar one. Then we had a power cut. And another. Only flashes - the tv and lights came back on nearly straight away but each time the break in signal set the alarm off. So I decided sitting at the table doing my jigsaw (12 feet from the alarm cupboard) was preferable to trying to go to sleep and having to stop my machine, take my mask off, shuffle off the bed and through three doors. Five breaks altogether then mum came through and said she thought if all the lights were off (alarm must be on the same circuit) it wouldn't go off again.
Mum was being 'busy' again this morning. She was dusting and scraping off some candlewax she had spilled but kept dropping things and making lots of noise. I was trying to get myself together and ready for the day but she disturbed and worried me so much (she will do things she cannot/ should not do and then makes herself ill and gets ratty if I say anything) that I sat in the front room doing my puzzle again - at least I didn't jump out of my skin every time she dropped something or knocked it off.
Food delivery arrived and is mostly put away (a few tins and jars still outside in the trolley. Have cleaned my mask and the hose, taken a card to the post box for mum, cleared up for the window cleaner coming in the yard and put a load of washing on.
Today I am grateful for honey and cough medicine, jigsaw puzzles, the internet (the power cuts knocked ours at home out of flunter) and meals from leftovers. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

Friday- still NSD 6/15, had to buy bunny food or the poor rabbits would have been very unimpressed! So have also transferred some money that needed paid so hopefully at least 1 of the weekend days will be a NSD.
Grateful today for enjoying baking, and now sitting nibbling the "ends" of some brownies while I watch TV 😋, the roads not being as bad as they looked, a weekend off ahead of me.
f0xh0les- I love Father Ted
DrCarrie- I sometimes declare my NSD here early just to stop me spending when I don't have to- is totally crazy but seems to work 😂.

@crazy_cat_lady I had to scrape my car yesterday morning, then squirt de-icer at it, then try and get the blowers to clear the windscreen, then I realised the ice was on the inside of the windscreen as well, and that was the problem. Duh! Had to use the scraper on the inside, so it was like a snow globe. It took over 20 minutes before it was safe to drive. You would have laughed your socks off at me.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today should definitely be an NSD as there is nowhere to go. We have been told to stay at home as the 20cm of snow here is causing trees and masonry to fall. Over 1000 poor people are stuck in their cars on the motorway. Madrid just can’t cope (it even struggles with rain) and it’s still snowing!
No exercise today but maybe will attempt some yoga later. Read some of my book this morning and have made pizza dough for later on. Luckily we have enough food to get us through the next few days.
Grateful for fresh running water and heating, for the beauty of the snow.

Afternoon all. Up to 6 NSD's but have spent today. Yesterday I posted the books I sold but used the proceeds of the sales so I'm being cheeky and still counting it as a NSD. I'm more concerned about getting rid of these books than making profit, most are specifically related to my job so not suitable for a charity shop. I bought way too many books last year in lockdown (mostly secondhand but still) so re-registered at the library before this current lockdown.
Anyway, today I've also bought rabbit food (facethemusic we seem to have rabbits and ponies in common) and protein powder. OH and I are having a takeaway later as it's our anniversary. Would normally go out so this is a bit more MSE, even if it is enforced lol.
Was on call this morning but didn't have to go in. Was speaking to my manager saying I was actually looking forward to going in as there's not much to do! But will go for a walk soon instead and then read for a bit. Might as well indulge in some self-care when the opportunity presents itself6
