Well done on moving in. Sounds like you chose a good area. How lovely to have such a choice of food and it is all healthy too. I have the local one stop and it is rubbish. Then there is the supermarket which is quite a walk.

    Thanks @MovingForwards and @savingwannabe

The area I am in is a temporary one, not chosen as such, but back where I used to live growing up although it has been greatly gentrified and is full of very trendy people. There are lots of places to get healthy, good food and I am very thankful for that. The area I am hoping to buy a property in has a Farmer's Market and lots of independents including (look away vegans) a good butchers in addition to an A1d1 and a Waitr0se within a 10 minute cycle. I have a good fish and chip shop too. I am quite greedy but health conscious too, so I look prioritise food shops :)

It's a good area to recharge your batteries, take stock of what you want and not rush into something. Hopefully the right home will pop up soon in your preferred area.

Thanks MF. I'm not rushing. I've been looking at houses for a year now.

"The boonies" is a funny expression. Never heard it and yet I know exactly what you mean.
I have to confess to half a bar of mint chocolate rather than make something nutritious to eat!

Thanks @savingwannabe and @Skint_yet_Again I had to look up the goonies :)

Your posts have helped me realise I do have an opportunity for eating well on a reasonable budget. Yesterday I discovered my relative has a nutribullet type thing so I blended the leek and potato soup. I'll be having soup daily again now. I'm having a roast today, using a turkey leg with lots of root veggies and roasted Brussel sprouts. I'm not used to having a working oven so I didn't think to buy 2 and roast them both at the same time. Will do next time.

I paid off my credit card that I used for paying for storage. I used the bike money. I'm going to pay for the bike repairs from my everyday money. I'm also going to see if I can afford a washing machine for my relative as hers leaks. I consider this money saving as I am not paying to be here so I want to help her as much as I can.

Today I will chase my post as there are forms to apply for refunds in there somewhere...

I've been saving with my standing orders. I think that is a good way for me to do it as it gets done without fuss or thought.

Wishing everyone a positive day. I have a little sun where I am, I hope you get some today too :)
