I missed the boat with the Mr L shredder. They were all gone when I went this morning, so I will make a small fire in the garden instead. One less thing to pack I guess.

I have no savings left after clearing my CC. I'm ok about it but conscious that I need savings! The good news is my PBs savings has continued due to the standing order. I love this way of saving. It suits me as it feels effortless and I don't miss the money.

I've decided to go easier with myself on shopping instead of getting annoyed at my grocery bills. I do buy organic/free range but I also cook from scratch and don't eat takeaways. I YS protein where I can. I've not been buying wine either so I still spend too much on groceries but it could be worse. I also prioritise good food.

Does anyone here have a banking app? Ever had any security issues with it? I'm thinking of using the B***lays one, just because I already have an account. The plan is never to ever have any more than £500 in it. It will be £300 a month into it but I want to build a float so there is £500.

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday

If your freezer is moving to your new place and not going in storage, you can keep it full. We moved with a full freezer.

Keep the newspapers and use it as packing material.

Hope you have a lovely day.

I’ve had the Barclays banking app for years and it’s never caused me any bother. Nice and easy to use too :)

I had a shredder it was rubbish, i just light a fire in the garden and use that for confidential waste. It's free.

Thanks MF. I probably wouldn't choose to move with a freezer full of food but I'll be leaving the freezer when I go. I'm using storage units until I find a home to buy.  I did have a good day thanks :)

I think I will have to accept that my budget is all over the place and will be until I settle. I'm not going to give myself a hard time about it. I'm just not. I spent £8.50 on chocolate and raw nuts yesterday. Then I paid £50 for packing containers. I have about £80 left for groceries, although I paid in advance for a veg box and some organic chicken carcasses for making soup. This comes on Friday.

A big energy bill arrived. I have now set up a SO so the next bill is covered.

    I still haven't added the Bar****s app...

I have been lost to looking at housing sites today. Also a new BBC programme about leaving the city for a simple life, which is what I am trying to do too...

Hope everyone is warm. It is so cold. Thinking of you MF in Scotland!

You're aware of your budget and also know the reasons it won't stick at the moment. When you've moved that will be the time to revisit the financial side.

I've not been out as we're having loads of snow, I can barely see my car!

I have just emerged from the marketing/viewing/ selling part as I exchanged yesterday. I still have the move, but stuff is going into storage and I have a place to live whilst looking to buy. It was exhausting to be honest. But it will be worth it when I am living MF and DF in a new area. Eyes on the prize and all that...off to check the housing site AGAIN!
