    Thanks @MovingForwards and @savingwannabe

Thanks @longway2go you are right. All I can do is budget and money save in the areas I can at the moment.
Also, I am getting a great understanding of the market and what is available to me that will suit my needs.

Thanks@Skint_yet_Again The trousers were too big. I keep forgetting how much weight I have lost, so back they go.

I have bought a slow cooker/pressure cooker/soup maker as the last soup maker got daily use. This is one of the few slow cookers with a stainless steel inner bowl so worth the money I think. I'm going to go for additional insurance as I will be using it so much!

Talking of insurance I still need to find 6 months insurance for my storage goods. I tried before and it seemed cheaper to get a year?

Have a good day everyone :)

Annual insurance is always cheaper than short-term, make sure the T&C's state they will refund if cancelled during the term and check what the admin fee is.

Slow cookers are great and so many things can be done in them.

Not always @MovingForwards...Good point to check on admin fees. When I cancelled my car insurance the admin fee and refund cancelled each other out!

Yes, I love slow cookers so excited to see what this multi cooker can do. It has good reviews. :)

    Thank you @MovingForwards, @Skint_yet_Again and @longway2go

Today I am starting a new savings pot for storage costs. I am covered until September but would feel less anxious about finding a home if I knew I had the costs for the remainder of the year covered too. It will cost me approximately £1000 to be covered until January 2022.  I'm going to use my CU account. They are very annoying as they are hard to get in contact with but I won't need the money for several months so it shouldn't be an issue. If I am lucky enough not to need this fund I will use it for solicitor's fees instead.

Wishing you all a good day :)

Not sure what interest the CU pay, but V's current account pays 2% (or 2.02%) on balances up to £1k. I assume you're on the electoral roll now so it would be easy to apply online.

    Thanks @MovingForwards :)

CUs don't generally pay interest. I try and keep things simple with banks accounts and only recently closed one, so I won't be opening any new ones. I know I will miss out on the interest but at least the money will be put away.

I do much better when my savings are automated so all that is in place once again. My PBs are all in place now too. Maybe I will win something?

I made a batch of soup today. My first attempt in the new cooker-thingy, so not great but okay. The next attempt will be better :)
