  • I am doing comparisons and there seems very little else out there really.
Cheaper than SP are Neo Energy, Simplicity & Utility Point but with not great cust service reviews. May stay where I am for now until the credit gets sorted.

Finished a rather unnerving phone call to SP.  Specifcally I asked for confirmation of the meter reads supplied to them on 9th December.  Seemingly no trace of them or rather no trace of them on the systems that the CS agents are able to access.  Whether these readings (both opening and reads from 3 days ago) I submitted to them over the phone again will find their way onto my account who knows?  He saw that my electricity meter details were missing and apologised.  As pointed out, until these reads are showing on my account they will not be able to bill me for the time I am with them.  I won't be bothering them again until February at the earliest after my switch from AVRO has gone through.  If I expect nothing to change between now and then I'll not be dissappointed.  Website working again but no changes that I can see.
When I spoke to the specialist Help line the other day, the chap I spoke to couldn't see the electricity meter reading I'd provided either. As mentioned in my previous post, he did say that the account setup was only just completing and it should appear in the account in a couple of days. And Hoorah, late this afternoon I checked my SP account again (for the umpteenth time) the reading is there (for the 6th Dec.). As others have said, no visibility of the DD in the account although the "We're sorry to see you go" banner remains. Just waiting to see how long now before the reading appears on my YE account.

Scottish Power have finally given me my Energy Exclusive tariff details. For the Norweb area they are gas 2.987 per kwh/20.444 per day and elec 15.354 per kwh/19.866 per day.
The Energy Exclusive tariff is not showing in the Cheap Energy club comparator, so as a workaround I selected Super saver Jan 2022 B3. For me with annual gas of 11300kwh and elec 4000kwh, the cost is within £7 per year.
The bad news is that there doesn't seem to be much to be saved by switching. Utility Point and Simplicity could save me up to £81 per year, but their service is unrated. Next Is EON, saving a paltry £38 per year. It still might be worth moving to get on a fixed tariff for a year.
I accept that these prices are a lot more that YE, but they are now history.
I also remember being with GB Energy when they went bump and the Coop took them over. In those rosy days, the Coop honoured the GB Energy tariff for the rest of the term - and the switch was very quick!
Strange,i live in Norweb area and mine are gas Ur 2.767p kWh  SC 23.33p per day   Elec UR 15.779p kWh  SC 20.77p per day?

That is strange as none of those figures seem to appear in the pdf of the tariff that SP issued (linked from the FAQ page) either with or without VAT or monthly DD or quarterly credit! Maybe @Gelfuk has negotiated a special deal ??

Just be aware that SP is a variable tariff not fixed for 12 months.
It's fixed for at least 6 months
Unit rates are higher for me on SP but the standing charge is so much higher a total of 15p per day that's over £54 per year without the extra tariff rates

those 6 Dec readings did appear briefly on the YE account, just before the meter reading history disappeared completely (I stupidly forgot to screenshot it as thought it would be there for a couple of days), which is partly why I was getting so miffed with SP taking so long to get them showing on the SP account - the only way YE could show them was if they got them from SP!!!!!

Hopefully, as someone mentioned earlier, the final YE bills start coming out next week and the credit to SP happens very soon after...

There seems to be positive news being posted in the Tonik threads about SP crediting accounts. They are about two months ahead of us in the process, but by all accounts the billing system at Tonik was awful. One good thing about YE was their excellent automated billing, so the likely reason for the delay up to now was to get all of those closing readings loaded prior to doing the final bill run (administrators were probably also prioritising completing their proposals document which was due this week). If we do see bills materialise next week, then that should give SP enough time to include the YE credit on the final SP bill for those of us who have left SP recently.
  • So I have my final bill now from YE after speaking to them yesterday. All issues sorted. This has been passed to SP.

I have spoken to SP this morning and they said accounts are still in transition to me. They seemed to have my details and knew I have switched away already. No really indication about when my credit would be refunded but the person said give it a few more days but obviously I don’t believe that statement,

Trust you received that assurance in writing because it's not mentioned in the terms and conditions for the Energy Exclusive tariff. In fact, they say:
    4. This is a variable tariff and prices may increase or decrease in the future; we’ll give you 30 days’ notice if our prices are increasing.
