I found that my gas switch was slower and more laggy than the electricity. The new supplier didn’t show up on the national database for a day or two after the switch date.0

There was for SP. Electric went to SP on 1st Jan, Gas on 7th for me. My switch date to AVRO is scheduled for 3rd Feb (both utilities)ewokuk said:So my Avro switch happened today (supposedly). Checked the databases and the Electric does show as Avro, but Gas is still showing as SP. I assume there may be a slight delay in the gas database showing it? I will check it again tomorrow.0 -
The conclusion from this seems to be that Cadent Gas (who cover all the gas supplies) are simply slow to update that database vs the various electricity suppliers who update much quicker.

My supplier is now listed as Octopus Energy on the national database, what a relief. Now that objective 1 is complete, I can move on to the next challenge, obtaining accurate closing statements from YE and SP.

Yorkshire Energy need to produce final bills first. Then any credit balance information needs to be passed to SP, and they need to reconcile that and credit it to the accounts.richardc1983 said:Did anyone get their credit balances yet? It could still take a long time for that to happen. You're free to switch away before it, you won't lose your credit balance. Just might take a little more effort to get it.0 -

You having a laugh? It will be months before anyone sees anything back from YE and no doubt SP will manage to screw that up as well so it'll probably take even longer.

I am doing comparisons and there seems very little else out there really.
Cheaper than SP are Neo Energy, Simplicity & Utility Point but with not great cust service reviews. May stay where I am for now until the credit gets sorted. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->1 -
Just be aware that SP is a variable tariff not fixed for 12 months.richardc1983 said:I am doing comparisons and there seems very little else out there really.
