  • Applemint: tell me what it's like as I'm going tomorrow night to see them. :j Fortunately I live fairly local so I shall be able to have dinner before I go - and I don't get anything whilst I am there - last time the programmes were £20!!!!! Think I'll make my own with a bit of old wallpaper and sticky-back plastic!! :D
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Thanks Queenie and Rage_in_Eden. I'm hoping we will be allowed to park close enough to hear it ... but I suspect not.

Girls are hyper-excited about this, youngest daughter currently looking for a top she plans to wear. Organised or what?

I'm green too, but at least some members of the family are going to get to see U2 live.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
  • Given how loud they were last time Applemint I reckon you will hear bits of it - especially as it's a roofless venue......... when the commonwealth games opening and closing ceremonies were on we live a good few miles away and we could see the fireworks and the lights into the sky from the stadium...

unfortunately I am now stuck at work so can't do any baking...boo......

    morning,

I am v jealous aboutt he U2 concert - I wasn't able to get tickets for the Scotland dates, perhaps next time. I am off to see Elton John at the end of the month and coldplay in July though, so can't complain too much!

I had quite a productive weekend - My dad cam to stay and we painted my kitchen, fixed the wonky sitting room door and put up shelves. I was chief t-maker and my flapjacks (recipe found on the recipe thread) went down a treat. I will definatly be making more.

Not such a great start to the week however, I was out last night and wasn't organised to take lunch to work this morning (left it in the fridge). I also havn't done my menu plan for this week and have a friend over for dinner tonight! Plan to have grilled chicken with a salad that's if I can dash to the shop on time. otherwise it will be pasta and tinned tomato sauce!

Well, I've had a good mooch around the fridge and perishables and adapted the menu plan for the next few days so I can use it all up before Friday morning! I don't want any wastage with dh and the boys going away for a long weekend - with just me to cater for, I can eat all the scrummy mealsized portions of things which they eat, but wouldn't be top of their "must have that on the menu" ;)

Tonight I'm making bacon and mushroom omelette plus salad and HM bread rolls so I can use up the last of the bag of bacon bits (Tesco's 78p) and mushrooms.

Tonight, the boys are making HM Father's Day cards (should have been yesterday but other things took over) and designing the label for some "Old Age Pills" for one of his gifts. (Old plastic pill bottle, cleaned and dried, filled with some M&Ms)

    'Morning everyone

Raining here, so can't get the washing out.

Making buns, pizza and potato wedges to take with us when we drive daughters over to the U2 concert in Manchester this afternoon. Will give OH and myself something to munch on while we wait (could only get 2 tickets). Flask will also be packed and a couple of reading books. Last time we took the girls to a concert it ended up costing us a fortune for a meal and a visit to the cinema while we waited. This time we are doing it MSE style ;)

It will be a late night so won't be online too early in the morning!

    wow what great parents,
I think I may have not mentioned the tickets at all and sneaked off to see it with my hubby icon11.gif

Glad, thats exactly what I thought when my dad bought himself, me, OH, sister & sister boyfriend tickets to see Paul McCartney when he ended his last tour here in Liverpool.

Apple-mint, do you want to adopt me and pay for me to go and see concerts as well?

Nothing OS here today. I'm still trying to get ebay things done. According to one list I have 62 items, according to Turbo lister I have 40  and more to go. Mostly clothes and toys now, but I have to be really careful when it comes to the toys because if DD sees some of them that we've confiscated to get rid of she'll want them and I'm not letting her. I really need to get a move on and I can't wait until payday when I can start uploading the stuff and get things sold.

We really need the money to pay for OH's birthday present we're going to see Starlight Express and have seats in the orchestra Stalls which according to OH (who has already seen it 4 times when he lived in London) is the best place to be. :D Only £52.25 for both tickets and my mum will be babysitting so there will be little/no costs. Now to convince mum to have DD overnight and we've cracked it ;)
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

My thats OS concert attending indeed!. Buy 2 - 4 listen, love it! I'm taking my boys to see REM on Friday at Old Trafford, well excited. Have intended to pack a picnic with a screw top bottle of vino but a friend says you can't take alchohol in and another says you can't take ANY drinks in and wouldn't be surprised if I can't take the picnic in. Anyone know ? Ta
