Hi all
Not too OS today. Had to be up and ready this morning as me and boys had dental check up before 9. Would have been on time, but 'lost' the car keys (they hid themselves under a tea towel!!) 3 sets of fab teeth, so DS1 to school and me and DS2 to mum's where I spent the day cleaning her houseSchool run at 3.30 then home to jacket spuds with bol sauce and HM garlic bread. Oh, also had to do 3 mystery shopping phone calls throughout the day. Every penny counts
Tonight - must source b'day pressie for sister (40th), write assorted other birthday cards, more ironing and double CorrieTomorrow I'm intending to get to Aldi's and Lidl's first thing (that means before 11.30)

I've had an amazing day, for those of you who know that I've been struggling trying to get the place tidy. I have finally done it...the pc hasn't been happy recently so I haven't been able to use it, finally fixed it today!! OH managed to get a knew fan and installed it tonight! But Sunday and today are the first two days in ages when I've been able to get up and not have to think about tidying first off......am sooooo happy!!! I also got 79% for my last assignment!!!! Today has been spent in a tidy study writing up another assignment!!! As for OS, cooked lightly roasted veggies and pasta today, and added some leftover roast chicken and grated frozen goats cheese!!!! Yummy!!!0

MATH wrote:You lot have finally seduced me with ya sultry talk of fast action yeast not to mention ya bragging about you big baps and crusty bloomers:p So I've dusted a couple of years worth of dust of me breadmaker (once I found it behind the work bench) and I'm putting it through it's paces.
:rotfl: You'd have to brag about bigger baps to try and persuade me to dust off our breadmaker
I've been a busy bee at work all day today.
Tonight we had someone round to give us a quote on a new kitchen & we paid the deposit. :j I get a brand spanking new kitchen in 2 weeks time and I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Well before I left for work today I made up some old style ice cream in the new toy (philips ice cream maker from Amazon) It is the nearest I can get to the ice cream my Mum used to make, 4 egg yolks, 4 oz caster sugar. 1/2 pint of milk, make an old style egg custard but do not boil, let it cool and then mix in 1/2 pint double cream and 2 tsps vanilla essence then churn in machine until done. Into freezer and off to work. Just had some for pudding, yummy, had better find another 4 eggs! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I had a major cleaning the kitchen day - cleaned out cupboards, drawers, the fridge - the place looks much better. Had a veggie haggis that had been in the freezer for a while, needed to be used up. YUM! You know, I always hated haggis, but the veggie one is lovely!
Also managed to get a major day out with a mate for when I am visiting her on holiday for £4.50. I'm well chuffed. Is anyone else from Old Style going to Live 8? (okay, it was a gamble, but I will be an hour from London when its on and I live WAY up north and wouldn't normally have stood a chance in going, just so happens its when I'm down)

On today's "To Do" list .... 2 loads of laundry already blowing in the breezebut I still have the boys wardrobe to finish going through. I have a small pile of clothes in the discard pile and yesterday evening, I removed the zips and buttons for using in other projects another time.
I shall be popping back in here later, but I need to get some housework done shortly
Have a great day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have a nice lineful of washing, too - perfect drying weather today.
I have to do some shopping today, have managed to make last weeks shopping stretch until today instead of Saturday. Sadly, the actual money didn't last so well
Stilll, don't have too much to get, as it's payday on 20th.0 -
:T Well done Chipps on making your meals stretch an extra couple of days!! Don't fret too much about the money side, it *will* all fall into place (patience, practise and planning). Roll on payday, eh!

'Morning everyone
Raining here, so can't get the washing out.
Making buns, pizza and potato wedges to take with us when we drive daughters over to the U2 concert in Manchester this afternoon. Will give OH and myself something to munch on while we wait (could only get 2 tickets). Flask will also be packed and a couple of reading books. Last time we took the girls to a concert it ended up costing us a fortune for a meal and a visit to the cinema while we waited. This time we are doing it MSE style
It will be a late night so won't be online too early in the morning!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Oh WOW!!!!!! I hope your daughters have a wonderful, wonderful time!!! (I'm green with envy!)
Hope you at least get to hear some of it while you wait!
Drive carefully.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
