Have intended to pack a picnic with a screw top bottle of vino but a friend says you can't take alchohol in and another says you can't take ANY drinks in and wouldn't be surprised if I can't take the picnic in. Anyone know ? Ta
When I went to the CIA last November to a concert we where allowed to take are bottles of fizzy water in with us but the tops where taken off of us. So it meant we had to down them rather quickly other wise carry them around all night in our hands.
So maybe you could take juice boxes rather than bottles.

Queenie wrote:greenlogo - how do the subway tokens work? (We've had one just open here).
I have a horrible suspicious feeling that they're stopping doing them (after 8 years..) because of fraud; but basically you get a certain number (usually one) of tokens with each sandwich (apart from the daily specials) and when you've filled your card you get a free sandwich when you buy a juice. As I usually only buy the special offer, I only get the tokens when I'm on the lunch run, but I've now filled up my card.
It might be worth asking about it because they do usually forget to give you the tokens and I've read that even though the paper loyalty cards are stopping, they might be starting a swipe card scheme.Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Nesting instinct  I don't recall actually getting the nesting instinct with DD but then we only moved into our house in the October and she was born in the April. We had to decorate the 3 bedrooms and all the hand-me-downs we got had to be sorted so any nesting instinct kind of got lost. One thing I do remember is getting my first contraction and feeling very ill while bending over to clean the bath. I then spent the next 2 hours sitting on the bed in the spare room while OH was on the internet until I couldn't stand the pain any longer. Oh, and then cravings for bacon & sausage butties almost immediately- during the time I was pregnant I couldn't even cook meat without feeling VERY VERY illCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Hi everyone!
Have worked some extra time today so I guess that could count as an MSE activity. Made the chicken crumble recipe from the board using the leftover frozen chicken from the roast which was delicious!! Also at long last sent off for the Be - Ro recipe book. Tomorrow is not going to be a money saving day as we have to go and buy a car because the company car is going back but we have remembered that hubby still has some vouchers left from his 20 years service so we are also going to put some of those towards a new breadmaker. Yipee!!

Evenin' all - whoops, old habits die hard (I don't think I ever did say that anyway:))
Today I actually managed to get my lazy butt outta the house this morning, so went and tried Aldi's and Lidl's. I must say, I've been in them before (not that particular Aldi) and didn't like them. Maybe they've improved, maybe I'm more MSE, maybe they have got better stock than last time, but between the 2, I spent just over £84. However, I did buy 9 bottles of wine, a bottle of whiskey (dad's day pressie)a 24 box of beer and some things I don't usually get' like salami and pickles. Did buy those raspberry jaffa cakes, but not tried one - YETYou are all a bad influence on me. I'm thinking about costing everything up and seeing what it would have cost me at Tesco's. It's bound to have saved me the extra 6 miles.
Other than that, did some mystery shopping phone calls - have a lot to do this week, and also spent nearly 2 hours on phone to friend (18866) Pizza, salad and new pots for tea then Ds1 to footy, so allowed me to use up lots of free minutes on my mobile, talking to other friends.
Off to watch Enterprise now....0 -

Well that is just sooo typical.......... am thinking about getting OH some REM manchester tickets on e-bay - some of them are good bargains. only live about 10mins away in a car though so sometimes if the wind is right....... :j he's had a pretty hard time just recently losing a couple of orders so it might cheer him up. I'll try and find out what the policy is. Honestly, they charge an arm and leg in those places and it's captive audience too..... I know at the MEN they take bottles off you and put them at the side of the steps. nobody has ever stopped me though - I must have that "don't even think about it" northern stance!! :rotfl:But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -

Please may I join in today - just for once? I went to town on my once-every-couple-of-months trip, and got some cracking bargains.
In Bodycare (not sure if this is a national chain or just local) got a palette of 12 lip glosses for 29p! Discontinued line - usually 99p (so obviously not all that special but fine for my needs). Also a bottle of fancy delicious smelling shampoo for 71p 'cos top is broken. £1 spent so far.
Then to Bon Marche, where I got some plain black stretch leggings for £6 - not in the sale but not a bad price I thought. Round the corner to the Pound shop where I got nine tinfoil dishes with lids for £1 (you guessed) so I can use my (free) Multi-cooker and put some individual meals in the freezer.
Then Tesco - well everything in my basket was off the reduced counter, except the salad stuff that was half price cucumber offer (whole one for 29p)
and cherry tomatoes two punnets for £1.
And finally...... as we are in the middle of a living room redecoration, got three pairs of lined curtains on a 50% off promotion, which ends at the weekend!
Not quite finally actually, I've got a tunic type top that for some reason now looks miles too long (was a fashionable length about 8 years ago when I bought it) and it was headed for the charity shop, but I thought I'd get some matching cotton and try to shorten it. Well the cottons were 45p, so I got some embroidery silk for 20p, and spent an hour this afternoon doing the job, and it looks okay, so there are a few more years wear in it now!
I've been dying to join in a MSE-day thread - I think today will do! Gotta go and serve up the reduced to clear cheesy jacket spuds now, with salad that I made double of yesterday.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
