afternoon all
I'm feeling very un-productive in the face of all your hardwork, but anyway
This morning before work (back shift today) I organised a lift to my parent's house this friday as I'm going to a wedding - have arranged with my splendid parents for me and friend-with-car to stay there for the price of doing the dishes! So rather than staying in a hotel and getting lots of taxis and trains I only have to pay for the wedding pressie and an outfit (which given the thousand and one 21sts I'm going to this year will get well worn!). I also swept and swiffed the sitting room, hall and kitchen and put out the rubbish.
Today's lunch wasn't that OS or MSE - it's our "treat lunch" which we do about twice a month and today I went to subway to pick up the sarnies on the way in to work... I DID get today's special and I kept all the tokens (so I now have a full card!) so it's a wee tiny bit MSE and a lovely treat over my boxed pasta!
Stuck in work till 8 with nowhere else to spend my cash so should be fairly MSE for the rest of the day!Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -

Hi all
Put breadmaker to work this morning before I went to work so came home to lovely aroma of bread! Wash put out as well but the grey clouds are gathering so will have to keep an eye on it (half the time I don't notice the rain 'cos I'm on the computer!!). Later this afternoon I've got to go and collect a parcel which they tried to deliver while I was at work (if I can find my way to the depot!). Was hoping that OH would be back from wherever he's gone and would offer to do it for me but he's not shown up yet. Tonight we will be eating Thai Red Chicken Curry.
Enjoy what's left of the day.0 -

I always eat copious amounts of blue cheese whenever colds/flu/laryngitus etc seem to be going about & also at the start of winter to try & ward off the inevitable sniffles or worse....Does anyone know if this theory actually works? I haven't had a cold or flu in years but this is probably concidence:rotfl:
Actually had an old style couple of days, got packed lunches back on track, laundry under control (shame about the ironing but I can't have everything:rolleyes: ), next weeks shopping list written, dinners organized for this week & some quality time with Hubby set aside:D
Am itching to do some sorting out & organizing at home & clear out some clutter but am holding off, I don't know if this is jus pre-birth "nesting" (when might this kick in? I still technically have 7 weeks to go although the head has been engaged since last week:eek: ) plus I don't think I should try & make sensible balanced decisions about stream-lining my wardrobe when Iook like I have swallowed an over-inflated beach ball!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Any "nesting" urges I had (but I've only had 5 so I'm no expert) were generally around a week beforehand. Mind you, to be fair, the more I had, the less I had the "nesting" urge - more a case of "There are 4 in the bed and the little one said .... "
I think you're very wise not to tackle your wardrobe right now ... some women fit straight back into their ordinary clothes within days of birth, yet for the majority, that isn't the rule.
It's great to hear you're more inspired the past couple of days Lillibet - enjoy your prime time with dh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Is it your 1st lillibet? I never nested as such but I did shop till I dropped afterwards, I got lots of lovely vouchers after baby's arrival. Remember your pelvic floor too. I'm home from my hard days slog and am about to tackle the tea problem, so hunt the freezer time. I'd also like some yummy ideas for picnic food, is there a thread in the recipes or any top tip ideas would be gratefully receivedPanda xx

We have all sorts of packed lunch and sandwich ideas in the recipe collections which can be used for picnics. I'll have a look for specific picnic threads.
If I can't find one we could split your query here into a thread just for picnic ideas.

Lillibet, I've not heard that about the blue cheese thing but it sounds good to me (I love blue cheeses) - think I feel a cold coming on!!!
Not sure about the nesting thing (no children of my own) but I remember various friends going into a frenzy of housework etc just before having their babies!0
