Hey Martin, we gotta stop meeting like this (lol).

Yes, the site is greatly improved now. Just for the record if anyone failed to carry out Webby's instructions, if like me you are not too technically minded, after typing in the www.moneysavingexpert.com, you have to hit enter. That will set off the running text which he requires. I've just succeeded albeit after the problem may have been resolved.

Almost afraid to say it out loud, but the site is behaving really well today. Thanks :D

Ditto - the site either doesn't load at all, or loads slowly. If you make a post - it doesn't necessarily post, which is a tad annoying!

Is the site being DDOSed again?:confused::(

I just tried this - which worked... I rebook marked too... But then if you close your browser and try launching via the bookmark, the site is still slow...

I blame them too. I'm on Virgin, originally NTL. Their transparent caches were always giving problems and we used to be able to manually set a different proxy going through port 8080 instead of 80 when there were problems. Now that Virgin have taken over they have been slowly taking away that capability and forcing us to go through the transparent cache.

I posted on the cable forum last night and asked them to try getting here. Out of 6 replies only one could get here and that was around 4am after Webby sorted the problem!

By the way everything is fine here too now and very fast. Let's hope it stays that way.

Virgin Media dropped the transparent caches for xNTL people a few months ago.

You can if you wish use the blueyonder webcache or virgin webcache.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
