MSE on "go slow ?".

I have been a member of this site for years. Normally I would pop in several times each day. But during the last few days, I have never experienced anything as slow to load pages. The thing is, I spend hours each day surfing. I flit from site to site, forum to forum and each of them are available within seconds, so I know it's not me. Whilst each of us is aware that Martin has been trying to resolve issues within the site, ie being off-line for maintenance etc, I just wondered if progress was being made.
About a fornight ago, the layout of this site changed, in that everything was spaced out and colours appeared somewhat different. So at that stage, I actually did wonder if any of my settings had been altered. I've posted my concern about this and thus far have received no explanation.

It's chronically slow here - takes about a minute for each page.
Lin :rolleyes:You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

Not just slow for me but unusable. For most of yesterday evening searching for MSE or following any bookmarks gave me a 'page not found' error. It took me over 50 minutes to log in this morning then a further 10 minutes to make 2 posts before I got chucked out again. It's been 'page not found' since then and I am wondering how long I'll get to stay logged in this time before I get timed out and chucked off again.
Maybe it's like the car i used to have that refused to start as soon as the weather turned colder
