Actually, it's now the fastest I've seen for several weeks -- as if some kind of problem was developing back then, but of course MSErs like me all presumed theirs was an isolated experience, and so didn't (or maybe, couldn't) come on here and post.
Next time, I won't be so backward about coming forward if MSE seems to be going nowhere. . .;)0 -

Little did I know when I started this post, 48 hrs ago, what it would lead to. Earlier today it was clear that many people were seeing a much improved website. I thought I'd wait and see.
Having returned, I note everything appears to be (dare I say it?) perfect.
I'd also like to say that some weeks ago, I made several observations about "page layouts" and how they had changed, both in type colour and space. This too has been corrected.
I can hardly believe what I see before me. Here is MSE as nature (Martin) intended.
We can only imagine the stress Webby has been through with every Tom !!!!!! & Harry asking "what's wrong?". Whatever the cause, however much sleep has been lost, if it's of any consolation you have made many people pleased that we are back to normal. I sent my IP and Traceroute, but have to admit that the site was running smoothly (best I think its been) when I sent them..................
