Good for me here as well. I got in first time via the link in my favourites which hadn't been working for about 36 hours.

I was watching this page last night so I did all the webby things, but I couldn't log in to say I was doing them..but hopefully they helped.

Thank you webby, I really can't do without my fix on here, mind you, I did get loads of stuff done yesterday that was non PC related

So far, so normal this morning.

I'm an ex blue yonder Virgin Media person who was having problems.

Me - I tend to blame Virgin - AWFUL service from them in this respect would be par for the course - as they are pretty useless generally.

    Hi folks,

I know we've had a struggle over the last day or so and I really appreciate all the great feedback I've been getting. Special thanks to everyone who took the time to send in their IP and traceroutes, that helped a lot.

So, we've made some changes tonight and I hope that we've cleared the problem. Of course, the best way to know that for sure is to get more feedback from yourselves so please feel free to keep posting here and thank you for bearing with us.

    Thanks again,

    Webby
Looking really better this morning THANKS!!!! :D

I blame them too. I'm on Virgin, originally NTL. Their transparent caches were always giving problems and we used to be able to manually set a different proxy going through port 8080 instead of 80 when there were problems. Now that Virgin have taken over they have been slowly taking away that capability and forcing us to go through the transparent cache.

I posted on the cable forum last night and asked them to try getting here. Out of 6 replies only one could get here and that was around 4am after Webby sorted the problem!

By the way everything is fine here too now and very fast. Let's hope it stays that way.

Thanks a lot for your help - the last 36 hours or so were quite frustrating.

What was the problem? Wouldn't surprise me if it had anything to do with NTL's (now Virgin) notorious Inktomi traffic -servers.

This is the 80'th post in this thread which I started this time yesterday.

Having followed Webby's request with it's instructions, I failed to comply. I typed in what was required and nothing happened so by email I told him so. BUT, there is one word/instruction that I've picked up. After typing in www.moneysavingexpert.com, we should press enter it seems. I'm going back to try again now.

But, for what it's worth, dare I say it ? but there is much improvement today. Oh, and my isp is talktalk.

Webby made a big change last night which should have massively improved things.

If you're still having problems let us know (though it won't be too zippy today as its tip day so the forums are very busy)
