Thank you! Yes, I’m excited to have lots to look forward to this summer- hen weekend, wedding, holiday!I’ve been a bit up and down this week. I crashed really badly midweek and ended up crying in my weekly placement supervision (my tutors were very nice about it) but I’m feeling better today.Yesterday we went up to the venue to talk through food and things. We’re having a bbq for the main meal and pizza for a late night snack, which works out quite cost effectively. We’re spending a good chunk on booze (which I’ve budgeted for) as I know that’s the thing that will really make my family happy! XD
Grocery budget is still on track, got a £70 morrisons delivery and our £20 fruit and veg delivery. Mini is going to help me make halloumi and vegetable skewers for lunch and then we’ve got pancetta and spinach pasta with salad for tea.2 -
I'm not surprised you were upset you have been through sooo much. Just being a parent of a baby is hard on its own, let alone completing a Phd thesis, obtaining and doing work placement during a pandemic, being diagnosed with a major illness. OMG did i mention the pandemic????? That was simply stressful on its own.
You stay strong and cry if you want to any time. We are here for you Dr Riot.
It will take time to find your feet and you have so many things you will enjoy. Your food sounds delish.

It is hard studying with a family, let alone adding in placements and then health problems on top of that! You e every right to cry and release emotions.
Wedding foods sound fantastic! It's great to hear of something more like a happy event, celebration and relaxed time too food.
Tea sounds yummy, I must buy some halloumi soon.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Aww thank you, that means a lot. It has been tough and I seem to get quite teary and emotional when my fatigue is at it’s worst. You’ve upgraded my achievements though SW, I’ve only been doing an msc- although I do quite like the sound of Dr Riot!Hope you’re both having a restful weekend2

Long term illness is disabling and exhausting in itself without all the other things you are juggling in your life. You are doing so well. Don’t worry about a few tears I’m sure they are used to it and you obviously needed to get it off your chest.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Thanks SkintyWell I’ve had a rotten cold this week and with feeling so run down already I’ve ended up taking a few days off placement to rest. Starting to feel a bit better today so hopefully next week will be back on track!
am trying not to worry
Also got my hair cut today for the first time in about 18 months! It was nearly down to my bum so I’ve had about 6 inches off and it all thinned out, there was a good spaniels worth of hair on the floor xD Feels so much lighter and only £252 -
Hope you feel better soon.
A hair cut makes a difference to how you feel, it's a good price too.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

Not a lot to report here, everything’s ticking over ok. I got my second vaccine yesterday and I’m feeling horrible and flu-y so we’re having a lazy sofa day today. Sucks feeling rubbish but at the same time it’s so exciting to be fully vaccinated! Feels like the world is opening up again and I am just in awe of the scientists who worked so hard to make this happen. Amazing stuff.Placement is going well, I’ve had good feedback and there’s been some noises about potentially extending it so I can just finish all my hours, will hopefully find out more next week.Poor mini riot has just gotten over a UTI. She came down with it over the bank holiday and could NOT get her seen by the NHS for love nor money (took 111 8 hours to call us back) so I ended up paying £45 for a phone consultation to get a prescription. Money well spent, I think.
£7k in the LISA for our house deposit now, very exciting! Starting to feel very real that we could buy a house next year. Just need to graduate and get employed!2 -
Poor mini riot. Can't blame you for paying to get her sorted out.
How exciting about your placement, it would be great if they can sort the extra hours out.
Your house deposit is going in the right direction and it will soon be time to look.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2
