Just logged in to the BG site - now asking for 1st meter reading and message to phone 0333..... has vanished. Haven't tried to use link yet.
NR - no estd meter reading has appeared - my read of 22nd Nov. is still the last one shown.0 -
Finally received a response from BG CS, as follows
'We've got your start meter reading of 25350 for the starting date with us of 02 Dec 2021. Any gap between your previous supplier officially closing, and us officially starting won't be charged for by either supplier.'
I can't say that I'm entirely convinced by the 2nd part.0 -
Reading some of the previous I must be a lucky one,I had the BG message this morning to submit a reading, duly did that after signing up and it's stayed there, just checked NR and all my reading are there without any estimatesAll I need do now is join the Rewards which seems to be dead with an error at the momentEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

so just to reconfirm - cash/cheque tariff is currently the same price as the DD tariff ?
I already have another BG gas only account (on the infamous BG Zero Fix October 22) & they let me set up a variable DD payment on it so I will be trying for this on all three of my/relatives new BG electric accounts0 -
I used the email link to supply my two eco 7 readings. Can't check on app or web as I'm not a customer. They know my name there though! What a pickle0

My account is now all set up. It did not appear with the BG account that is set up for Homecare. So I had to register again with another email address and is now all set up. I have sent through today meter read as requested. Also I entered todays read on my NR account as well.0

I've had the email again to remind me to give a meter reading so I've given it via the link in the email and via the app, let's see if it works this time.0

I rang to set up the DD and whilst I was on the call asked why I keep being asked for meter readings, but cannot see them on the account page. She said that I was worrying too much
and that the account was being "built" in the background and would soon be visible.

Unfortunately my experience switching utility providers is that things going smoothly is the exception not the rule. If you don't keep on top of things you end up in a mess with the company blaming you for failing to provide a reading.
I work in IT looking after customer facing systems and the one BG are using would never pass testing anywhere I've worked.1
