    Great news! I phoned them and got them to set up a variable direct debit for me and the money is taken 14 days after the bill is produced.

    We’ve created a new tariff for our Neon Reef customers. It's priced in line with the Ofgem energy price cap and it doesn’t have an exit fee. We've also applied a Direct Debit discount – this discount will remain as long as you set up a Direct Debit with us – if you don’t, the price of your energy will go up.

    I've just got that one so I looked at my new BG account and the tariff is a "cash or cheque" tariff of 24.867p SC and 21.18p per KWH both inc VAT.
    Has anybody found out if this tariff is the discounted version incorrectly labelled or is there another version?
    I prefer DD payment, but do not trust suppliers having had history "explaining" that I know my usage and they cannot increase the DD by 200% when I'm £300 in credit.
    I've paid by DD since the late 90's, BG used to have something like a flat £7.50 discount if the quarterly bill was paid in 7 days and my gas usage was around £21 a quarter so it was a massive discount.
  • Also received that email from BG at 16.11. It reads like we should have received it a week ago, and I am further on now than the scenario it refers to, already!

    Also, it’s all very well BG suggesting taking a screenshot of our NR account (which I had already done anyway), but in my case NR keeps changing it!

    ironically, following Neon Reef/Zog's respective demises my electricity will now be supplied by British Gas whilst my gas will now be supplied by Electricite de France ...  :p

    Which is a bit strange, given they were the ones who fitted it a couple of years ago...

    I got the same when they took my PFP account. After a month or so I noticed in my account that they had since started to read my smart meter, but hadn't told me.

    BG now listed as my leccy supplier on distributor site altho estimated date on the BG site is still the 6th.
    Faster than I have experienced in the past when going thru SOLR process - so looks promising !!

    Have now received the DD email notice from Neon Reef dated 5th, reducing my DD to £0 . However , DD was due on the 6th so will be interesting to see whether they attempt to collect ! Especially as I cancelled with the bank over a week ago !!
