If my experience is anything to go by, even if Symbio use the correct reading the final balance will be wrong. If you kept a record of all your meter readings you can work out for yourself what you should have been billed and you know what DDs you've paid, so you can work out the correct credit balance for yourself. Mine was out by only £7.14 but that's nearly 25% of by credit balance.CRISPIANNE3 said:
I left the same time as you and was supplied by Neon Reef from Oct 11. However in my case they still have not produced my final bill despite sending many reminders. Neon Reef have confirmed my opening read was validated and sent through to Symbio. Also I can now view my Symbio account online but nothing changed since the October bill was produced.HeinzVarieties said:
I haven't heard anything from Eon but I also jumped to Neon Reef at the time Symbio went bust and was supplied by them from Oct 11th.tg99 said:I initiated switched from Symbio to Neon a few days after Eon was appointed as SOLR on 3 Oct and switch completed 15 Oct. Called Eon today and they stated that as I switched away only a few days after they were appointed then this was before the account migration process started and therefore my account was never passed onto them and they have no records on their system for me. They said they will therefore not be billing me for this short 12 day period I was technically under Eon. Anyone else in a similar position to me heard the same from Eon?
I did notice on my final bill with Symbio that my apparent "Customer read" was a fair bit higher than the one I took when they went bust and is 6 units below my Neon Reef opening read. Although the dates don't show me being supplied up until I moved over to Neon Reef, presumably I've just been billed in the interim at Symbio rates and they appear to be swallowing the standing charge?
If you haven't done so already log into https://symbiocustomersportal.co.uk/Dashboard and get screenshots of all your meter reads and direct debits.1 -
I didn't originally as also have an old phone, then got caught in not being able to receive a texted number to verify account log in (something becoming a very irritating necessity when logging on to accounts), which got sent to my landline and then only received the next day!brewerdave said:
Haven't given them my mobile no. cos its an old phone - not smart!! I'll try setting up the app on a tablet.CRISPIANNE3 said:
They sent me a text message and I had to click on the link contained within that text.brewerdave said:Multiple nags from BG for a meter read within a +/- 5 day window of today - but no way on the website of submitting!!
You don't need a smart phone for the meter read link, as the full address is in the text.0 -
I can access my new BG electric account after asking BG to delete my old BG gas account and re-registering.
The account has not been fully set up as no account number.
The tariff says payment method quarterly cash/cheque.0 -
I have already taken copies of everything. Also checked the account yesterday and noted the bill was cancelled for October and the amount of £19.00 was written off. This entry appears on the 11 November. The September bill was £35.00 in credit.ivanleo said:

The switch away started on the 4 October and was completed to NR on the 11 October. I have not heard anything from E.on on paying for those extra days. I think it is just a waiting game now.

I have just spoken to Symbio again and the same old story in that they will send a message to the concerned dept and get them to produce a final bill. This will take approx 7 to 10 days. However this is what was said last time I spoke to them over 2 weeks ago. Even though this company is in administration they are just as inefficient as ever.CRISPIANNE3 said:

After the confusing email received from bg stating
We’ve created a new tariff for our Neon Reef customers. It's priced in line with the Ofgem energy price cap and it doesn’t have an exit fee. We've also applied a Direct Debit discount – this discount will remain as long as you set up a Direct Debit with us – if you don’t, the price of your energy will go up.
Have tried via chat to find out home much the discount is with no luck has anyone actually managed to find out if there is any discount to be had by paying with direct debit ?0 -

Have tried via chat to find out home much the discount is with no luck has anyone actually managed to find out if there is any discount to be had by paying with direct debit ?It's not the only confusing statement from BG. They also say the price is fixed until July, but also that it's variable.I'm not sure if BG really do direct debit discounts as opposed to different pricing for direct debit. For the "Welcome..." tariff, the price is the same for both payment methods, and is in line with the price cap for direct debit accounts. I find it hard to believe BG will charge customers any less than the cap. Perhaps it's a standard statement they have wrongly included that would apply to other tariffs where the pricing is different for some payment methods.0 -
Well screw the welcome tariff, just asked to be moved to the Zero Fixed Oct 2022 via chat and this was the reply:I have made the arrangements for you and the tariff will be updated to your account within 10 working days and you will also receive a written confirmation via post within 7 days
But by all means, for those who decided to play it safe and stick with the SOLR process, do enjoy your SVT.

I have tried on numerous occasions in the last few weeks to be switched to the Zero Fixed Oct 2022 and been told each time this tariff is no longer available have just tried again and again been told no.ivanleo said:Well screw the welcome tariff, just asked to be moved to the Zero Fixed Oct 2022 via chat and this was the reply:I have made the arrangements for you and the tariff will be updated to your account within 10 working days and you will also receive a written confirmation via post within 7 days
