Never, ever let a letting agent or landlord, janitor, concierge or anyone else read your meters or deal with an energy company on your behalf.
Thank you for the tip. I can only assume and hope that the readings given were correct. The landlord visited the property the day that I moved in - that day's readings were noted on the inventory, the document is signed by him (the readings were typed up and he provided a typed copy the next day).

Why is the Regulator not getting involved with supporting customers who have been left in limbo by Tonik collapse? We should be given proper advice about what to do next. One for Martin’s Team to help with please! JT

Anyone else having issues with updating their Tonik details with Scottish Power?
SP sent me an email saying they would be taking over my supply but when I click the link and go through the whole process (Meter readings, Acc No and Bank details) I get a message saying "Something went wrong. Sorry, we can't complete your request online. You can simply contact our dedicated team for free"
I've tried over the last 2 days at various times. Last resort it to telephone and hope to get through quick.
    Thanks
  • I sent mine by going direct to their website - scottishpower.co.uk - clicking on the find out more tab by the welcome to Tonik customers, then scross down and click to send details. Did it Sunday before getting the email. seemed to work.

When will Ofgem announce what is going to happen to Tonik Energy customers who switched to another supplier before Scottish Power was nominated SOLR. Many of us waited months for Tonik Energy to bill us and to correct past billing efforts and are still waiting. Will the Administrator be getting in touch with us any time soon.

I received the email saying we've been passed over to Scottish Power today, they seem super eager to take my bank details and I'm a little bit nervous... to add, we are about to move house so I'm not sure what to do for the best.

I submitted my mother's details using the link on the website two days ago. Did you receive a confirmation email? I didn't and I've just received an email from Scottish Power asking me to provide details. The only difference is that this form already has the account number filled in, but I knew that anyway.

No I didnt get an email confirmation but did get the email asking me to send details. I contacted them on Messenger. They responded quickly and, after not understanding what I was saying, confirmed I need not send them again as they would have them, but did not confirm they had them. Dont want to send them twice as dont want two accounts set. Could not confirm hether the new tariff would be equal to, or more than Tonik's tariff I was on (Green Super Power v1). I have cancelled my Tonik DD (was £126 in credit). Fortunately I have recently been printing out my monthly statements following the mess of their computer system upgrade

If you were in credit with Tonik then the administrators will pass your details (including what they think is your final bill) over to SP for them to reimburse you. On previous supplier failures this has sometimes taken many ,many months to resolve!!
If the administrators come to the conclusion that you owed Tonik on failure date ,then they will raise a final bill, and if other failures are anything to go by, the administrators will employ debt collectors to harass ex customers !!!
