    Can’t say I’m surprised.
    Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.

    In case it helps others that are unsure about their outstanding balance; the Tonik backend servers appear to be still operational so if you cancel your direct debit it will trigger an automated notification (by email) advising you of this which handily also includes reference to your current balance. It doesn't detail the latest billed meter readings so it's not the full story but might be better than nothing if you really don't know whether you're in credit/debit and by how much.

    It was this time of year in 2018 when several small suppliers went t**s up one after the other - I was with three in the space of  4 months!!
