Jet2 refund thread

I can't fault Jet2 in the slightest. Due to fly out May 23rd. Received the cancellation email 7th April saying they would be in contact. expected it to be a while after readings several mentions of working their way through bookings. Had the call Saturday 2nd May. No hard sell juts my options. I asked for a full refund, she put me on hold and my refund email came through. Monies back on my card Wednesday 6th. Great custom service and will certainly view them positively when things get back to holidays being booked. Unlike another company I booked another holiday through (should have happened in late April) who are giving me nothing but delaying tactic and lies.0

We were contacted by Jet2 on 9 May to discuss what options we wanted to take for our cancelled holiday to Zante on 4 June. My husband said we would like a refund but I was surprised when I checked our credit card statement today, that we have only received a partial refund back from them which we received on the same day my husband spoke to them. They have not refunded us for the £120 deposit we paid back in August. The phone number is just a pre-recorded message and the email we sent to customer services was just an automated reply saying it might be 21 - 28 days till they get back to us. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if everyone has got a full refund.0

I'm due to fly to Italy on 5th July. Obviously Jet2 say they will restart flights from 17th June. I'm apprehensive about going, firstly due to CV 19 and health
/safety reasons. Secondly I think the attractions may not be open which I'm going to see. Is there a way out? Can I cancel and get my money back?0 -

Pollycat, Keeto said they were called by jet2 to discuss the options for their cancelled holiday, they weren't cancelling it themselves.
Keeto, Jet2 refund based on payments. If you paid deposit then balance you will get two refunds. One for the deposit and one for the balance. Keep checking the accounts where the payments came from.
My refund came as two amounts

Peter__N said:Hi, we had flights booked to Italy, outbound 15th June returning 19th June. Jet2 had set the date of 17th for resuming flights and today emailed saying they will refund the full amount of the booking but only showing details of outbound flight. Can't get through to customer services to get details. Where do I stand getting a refund for return flight?0

Jet2 seem to be doing well.I am flying from Cyprus to Manchester with Jet2 on June 27th, back on July 3rd. Hopefully I can get a refund on that and they cancel it or some other similar circumstance. On a related note, what is the situation with quarantine? If flights are operating but you have to quarantine at either end, are you entitled to a refund as you would really not be able to fulfil your previous trip's plan?Update: They just text me to say things are cancelled til July 1st, and to check my email for options. nothing through yet, but at least that is that answered!0

I am bemused at all the positive comments and find it hard to believe that my experience with JET2 was a one off. On April 17th, the day after Boris announced the extension to the first period of lockdown, I received emails from JET2 purporting to be in response to my earlier enquiry. Their email read:-
“Further to your recent enquiry, please find attached documentation in relation to the cancellation of your flight booking.
The attached documents show cancellation confirmations per person per flight. We hope to be able to welcome you on board in the future.”
*** THE FLIGHTS WERE BOOKED ONLINE AND I HAD HAD NO FURTHER CONTACT WITH JET2 ***
The emails had attached a series of PDF documents for each of the outbound and return flights, confirming the make-up of the cost for each flight, for me to present to my insurance company?! In small print on each of the documents was the statement :-
“This is to confirm that the above person has cancelled the flight shown and that Jet2.com is a non-refundable airline.”
*** JET2's SUGGESTION THAT I HAD CANCELLED MY FLIGHTS WAS A COMPLETE FALSEHOOD ***
I immediately attempted to contact JET2 by telephone but could only get through to a recorded message. I then contacted the credit card company used to book the flights and took it up with them. The credit card company made their investigations and within 3 weeks I had a full refund confirmed & returned to me.
I and my family were resigned to the possibility of our holiday being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic HOWEVER we did not reckon on JET2, having taken it upon themselves to cancel our flights, trying to avoid paying out a refund by falsely accusing me of cancelling my own flights !!!

I am being treated exactly the same. Forms indicating I cancelled. Have been refunded £40 which equates to seat reservations made separate but no sign of flight cost. I impossible to get in touch with anyone. This is supposed to be top of the league! Disgusted at the way these companies operate. Left feeling helpless and stressed. No one has ever phoned me.
