  • Jet 2 package holiday booked for 28th April  paid by credit card.  Jet 2 cancelled all holidays until may..   They tell me I can't have refund, but offering me a voucher to have another holiday before October which I don't want..    holiday cost £3050 .  They say these extreme circumstances are why I can't have refund.. please help
  • Did you book with Jet 2 direct?
I have had this E Mail from them.
We’re sorry but we’ve had to cancel your holiday to Mainland Spain due to the unprecedented coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We’ll be providing you with a full refund, which will appear in your account within the next 28 days. If we’ve already been in touch about your cancelled booking, please ignore this message.

If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Thanks for your reply, we booked with Sodexo travel, who are just an holiday broker, but all the paperwork is Jet2 package holiday. I rang Sodexo, they say the refund is not an option, and they say this info is direct from Jet2
  • I think there are other threads on here that appear to say there is a different policy with holidays / flights booked direct and holidays / flights booked through an agent, may be search Jet 2  on here and see if you can find anything.

As many people on here will have experienced - my flights to Budapest with Jet2 were cancelled (due to fly yesterday)
They originally sent me an email to say that my flights were cancelled and I would 'receive a refund in due course'
They then sent a different email a few days later asking me to 'amend my flights' and sent me a link to the booking form
I have been ringing them for the past 5 days trying to get some sort of response from them about my refund but have been unable to get through to a single human - They suggest using a Live Chat facility which seemingly does not exist!

Has anybody actually managed to get through to them?  Should I just write this money off as a loss and never use them again?

From what I've read it appears that Jet2 are treating flight only and package holiday customers differently. Flight only appears to be refund but package appears to be "ring us if you want a refund". This can only add to the problems getting through.

No, you shouldn't!  The law entitles you to a refund.  Some companies are going down the rebooking/credit note route as well.

You just need to accept, that whilst it's not ideal, all of these companies are completely snowed under at the moment.  Their customer services are simply not set up to deal with the shear volume of people that need to get in touch.  Add to that they are probably operating at less than normal capacity due sickness/social distancing/working from home etc.  It will get resolved, but it might not be quickly unfortunately.

No no no . Never write it off. Your playing directly into their hands... Stick at it, and insist on refund not vouchers, or different date
  • Hi, I had flights to Tenerife that were cancelled on the day and heard nothing from Jet2. I managed to get the on live chat (I think it might have actually been on the Jet2 holidays page). They tried to offer me to rebook but I told them I wanted a refund. There were no quibbles after this and they did it there and then.

This was last week, so don’t know how the ground lies now

Their live chat is greyed out so I'm assuming it's not available rather than there's a very long queue.
