Jet2 refund thread

I got my refund after a 1 hour wait on the phone (not doing much else to do, ho hum). Jet2 are trying to trick people into re-booking instead of getting refunds. You can login online and change dates for your cancelled flights very easily. But if you want your money back you have to call (no email, no way to do it online) and listen to their delightful music for at least an hour. They don't even tell you in the email they send you that a refund is an option (one for trading standards I would say)They are a devious penny pinching company and this is typical of their policies. Don't let them get away with it. My guess is that if you do nothing, they will have to refund you when the date of the flight comes around, but I don't want to take the risk of finding out and they may have gone under by then so I would put the phone on speaker and put up with the music. Try calling first thing when they open the lines. Good Luck!

We had a trip to Rome booked back in February flying on 6th April which had been cancelled in stages by Jet2 (flights withdrawn on 10th March followed by overall package cancellation on 20th March by email). After a further email from Jet2 yesterday which explained the free amendment option etc and gave me a number to ring to discuss other options. Rang that number this morning and although on hold for over an hour I eventually got through to a helpful agent called Jack who explained the four options the last of which was a full refund. The voucher option that they offered had to be used on a booking by June 2020 though it could be against a holiday in 2021. As I'm completely uncertain re how travel is going to pan out for the foreseeable and prices going forward I went for the refund. I now have a cancellation email showing a refund is due which Jack indicated should arrive on my credit card in 3-5 days. If anything this has encouraged me to use Jet2 again in the future rather than the opposite but to do so on business as usual terms rather than with some sort of straitjacket in place.0

Jet2 have never been nothing but brilliant, even when I had to spend an extra 17 hours on Gran Canaria last month due to the sandstorm issues.0

With Jet2 package holidays Is there any benefit in just doing nothing and seeing what happens when the date for a cancelled holiday has passed?0

Can we not merge all these jet2/easyjet "cant get refund" threads because the answers are basically the same
You can have a refund you just have to stay on the phone long enough
If your flight/holiday is a month or two away be patient

I had Jet2 flights booked to prague (March 27th) obviously these were cancelled.I went to the manage my booking page and it said to log in and click on change flight button "great" I thought pretty simple ..... NO ... the change flight button is greyed out!
I'm currently on hold on the help line ..... been 45 minutes now .... I don't expect to be answered.
Ayone else had similar experience?0 -
Hi.
Looking for some advice
I had flights to Prague booked with Jet2 on the 27th March, these were cancelled due to the virus, I've since had no contact from Jet2, so I went online and found that I could amend the dates of cancelled flights (which is fine by me) by logging in and clicking on the "change flight" button.
"great", I thought. nice and simple ..... NO ..... the "change flight" button is greyed out.
I've now been on hold on the Jet2 helpline for an hour .... I don't think they will answer.
To compound matters. the website says this offer is only available til the end of April.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Michael0 -
Problem solved!
Got through eventually,
Very helpful guy, amended our flights for next year (£4 price difference)
Just wish Jet2 would amend their website!!!!!!!!0 -
Ive never heard of Sodexo travel but I dont think they are giving you correct advice. Jet2 holidays have updated their advice a few times as the situation is escalating so quickly but I would be pushing the travel agent to speak to JET2 on your behalf and ask for other options.0
