When you extend you do indeed have to tick a box understanding the terms and conditions.
However said terms and conditions are not available to read on that page at that point.
This certainly the case on my phone app.
Normally when you have to tick a box saying you have read something there is a link.0 -

I suggested the terms should be viewable when you are given the option to tick a box saying you have read them.
There is no link to the terms on the page that allows you to defer your final payment by up to 2 weeks.

Jet2 have always let you delay paying the final balance it’s nothing new, you just had to ring them and ask.0

I'm in the same boat - i emailed them on Monday telling them i wasn't paying the balance and they can either cancel & keep my deposit or give me a free amendment to book for next year. i have only paid the deposit and Monday was 68 days before we are due to travel so technically they could come after me??? given the back log in emails & how long they are taking to reply...........i'd love to see them try and chase me up for the difference.
Something needs sorting about this - the Government needs to step in..........its affecting millions of people now........i'm no expert but i cant see airports opening up before September for world travel......they should fix a longer term date and not leave it up to the travel firms to sort their own fictitious ones out to protect themselves.0 -
Hi all and thanks for reading during this difficult time. Like a lot of people I have tried to cancel my Holliday. I’m due to fly to Portugal with jet2 holidays on the 28th of June. As I’m sure your aware they are not taking any telephone calls at the morning but I have emailed them requesting a cancellation. My biggest worry is that they are due to take the remaining balance of £2500 from my bank this weekend. I paid a 10% deposit back in January. I have been in touch with my bank to try and stop this money going out but they are telling me they can not stop this money going out. Is there anything I can do to prevent jet2 from taking the money.Thank you.0

I presume then if the bank cant stop payment you paid the deposit on a debit card linked to your account??
I'd nip to mini bank - draw enough money out to last me for next fortnight or so then report your card lost / stolen to put a stop on it.
your bank would have to send you a new card with different start date / CVC on wouldn't they?0 -

You can contact the bank / card provider and stop any future payments, as long as it's at least a working day before.
