I have to agree, this forum is now broken beyond use, what a mess this upgrade has made. Even simple things like trying to use normal mode on an iPad Pro (which defaults to an oversized mobile version). I reported this weeks ago and the resolution appears to have been removing the desktop/mobile option.
Utterly pathetic.====3 -

Looking at recent site rankings and statistics the number of people viewing the forum has absolutely dropped off a cliff since the new design was implemented.
It's a real shame that the providers of the previous forum software couldn't have contributed towards an upgrade rather than this downgrade.
They could have just upgraded to Xenforo which is what most of the big forums are now using (for eg AVForums).
This Vanilla is a hot steaming mess...====4 -
This "upgrade" has been a perfect example of the Peter principle - as applied to IT personnel.2

I refuse to call it an "upgrade". It isn't it is a downgrade.2 -
And another one! Can a regular please contact a mod to get these posts moved as I'm finding it impossible to do so.0

To be fair there is a huge banner at the top to guide people. If they can't see and read that then they don't stand a chance of understanding any advice given to them.1 -

I take your point about the banner, but these are new people who are probably upset and panicking and the new layout is really very off-putting. Even regulars don't always see the "Announcements".2 -

It was a lot easier to contact the BG when their name was listed at the bottom of each section of the forum but now it is such a bother to find who it is, no one can be arrised to make the effort4

I imagine that the posters have already been messaged to tell them where best to post their queries - but I would have thought that the best thing would be for the first person to see such any such post on this board not only to send the appropriate message, but also to reply to the post directing the poster to https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/coronavirus-support-and-help - so that subsequent visitors to this board might see that and know where best to post.
