f0xh0les said:I do! I have a paper diary, and a paper wall hanging calendar, and a whole clipboard full of rescued A4 paper to write lists on the back of letters and school memos, and god knows what else. I have a list of things to do each day, and if I don' t get them done, they go onto the next day's list. My dh & kids all rely on their phones, and always have to ask me when they are supposed to be somewhere, or look confused when I tell them I will miss them, when they have forgotten where they are supposed to be. So let them laugh Toni'sfriend. All it takes is one 'update' for their calendar to fall apart. - my phone has lost all my contacts twice in January, then 72 hours later they are all back again. Pouf! Nobody knows phone numbers anymore either. DH does not even know the house phone number. I despair!
I have a paper diary, a paper calendar, various notebooks and tons of scrap paper for lists. I also have a list on my phone of books I am looking out for in the charity shops.

We live between two small towns and we are uphill from both of them, one of them flooded badly yesterday. Another town nearby has flooded many times and they have had flood defences done at a cost of £30 million, it has been very disruptive to the area, has taken years of roadworks and traffic jams, they are at the stage of bridge building and sorting out the roads but the actual defences are done but yesterday the three towns it is supposed to protect flooded in grand style. Totally devastating for everyone that lives there.I never left the house yesterday. I spent 5 hours decluttering and cleaning DD's room, I had no idea it would take that long, it was like a landfill site - the least said about the process the better but I'm sure you can imagine. The result is three things to go on ebay, one large bag of rag, two large bags of donations, about 30 school exercise books in the recyling along with about 200 sheets of paper again from school, I have saved so much of this in the past I just can't keep anymore at the moment, a large bag of cables, chargers and old phones to recycle and a load of manky makeup in the bin.I stitched a strap onto the back of the dogs coat to go under his tail to stop it blowing up in the wind, I used a hot pink ribbon from my sewing box, he now walks in his coat as if he is crippled - I believe he hates me.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

HiyaReporting in eventually.Saturday went out for brekkie, treat with daughter, anyway ended up complaining as they hadn't cooked black pudding, only on one side. really uphappy with them not apologizing, just said they would tell the chef. So went back with stern head on and got a total refund. So I now have 2 NSD woo hoo.Sunday storm day, cleared kitchen cupboards. Know what it is in there now, so much stuff, only veg and fruit shopping allowed rest of month. Fence panel most of it still up thanks to the honeysuckle holding it in place. Went for a walk when sun popped out as I needed milk, bad planning and ended up buying a magazine to ease my cabin fever. Only a cheap one. Couldn't believe prices of some, £4 know why I stopped buying them now.Today - after a day of munching to survive the great storm, I was hoping for diet day and no spending but plumber around after work. No doubt diet will disappear as well as I am freezing in this office.Grateful forLiving on top mountain,Cozy warm houseGrandkids bringing me funniest books in library - How to babysit Grandma and Gardening for the Zombie ApocalypseLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/2210

Did a quick sweep of all the bedrooms and rescued the dirty clothes and plates.Going to clean the kitchen (again!) and put away the tiny shop I did (no NSD for me!) as the kids ate all the bread again and I have 4 days of lunchboxes to conjure up. So sticking on NSD 5 for today.Gratitudes : Still over £100 in credit even after this month's energy bill has gone out. Getting confirmation of remortgage from the new bank, having a plan, bananas.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD 5/20Grateful for:- dd1's ice skating trip, the young adults accompanying them to the ice rink not allowing anyone to buy anything from the shop/bar, and just providing the drink included in the trip fee. I got my €5 back in one piece- the storm not doing any damage to our house, garden, and trampoline- the storm bringing lovely fresh air, and new appreciation of nature's forceIn the end, the hairdresser's appointment on Saturday took longer than expected, so there was no time left to buy shoes or socks for me. (moneysaving.... I'll last another week).Husband bought an iMac2008 for €150, has spent all weekend updating and fixing problems, and has it fixed to 2019 standards now. He will enjoy using if for a few weeks, and then sell it on for a nice profit.DDs had two friends over on Saturday and Sunday, and there was so much laughter all the time, it rejoiced my heart.I plucked my eyebrows on Sunday.I did a lot of shopping on Saturday, more than usual, to accommodate my parents coming on Wednesday and staying for about 5 nights. They just cancelled, due to it being a 6-hour trip on public transport in flu season. They are 83 and 78, and Dad just had a tiny (2mm) tumour removed from his nose, which shook them up a bit. It's a shame, but very understandable. DD1 is rather disappointed, but both dds are spending spring break at their place in a fortnight's time. on the upside: lots of fresh veg for us this week! Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.598

We've escaped the wind but it's now snowing and we have thunder. Still luckier than most.
NSD No 6. No way was I braving the weather today so I've ticked another few things off the lists and I've been enjoying the afternoon watching old films.
For once I'm grateful for those stuffed full freezers. Made soup for the next few days from bits and pieces and we are having sea bass with a nice potato dish tonight.
I am really grateful that I am retired and don't have to battle my way to work on public transport in this dreadful weather.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
It was so funny, drove to school to pick up the kids in the rain. Parked up as it stopped. 3pm exactly hail came bouncing down out of the sky, so stood getting icy on the playground, as soon as the kids came out, snow for 15 minutes, and it stopped as soon as I got home. So it looks like my NSD was squandered on a less than £2 spend.

Back to 'normal' for me today. Thank goodness - all my marking from this round has been done, reports are submitted and I'm back to studying the budget and looking for ways for me to save money to get this debt paid off. I have dd fully on board but ds is taking a bit more convincing - spoilt little so and so that he is.
Think my nsd's are going to take a battering as we're planning breaking the grocery shop down across a number of shops, and rather than visit them all in one day we will do one each day of the week for things we need. I'm still busy putting together the price book for comparison but the plan is sound if I can find the time.
Escaped the worst of the storm and the snow as well so far, so am feeling incredibly lucky today. Stay safe and dry turtles.

I'm claiming NSD 5 today - DH went and bought himself a 45p baguette for his lunch but that was his choice - we have wraps, HM seedy brown bread, rolls and even baguette in the freezer. I'm not losing my NSD for his wanton spending!!
Grateful for being in touch with both of my uni children today -checking all is ok, not being at work (wouldn't have fancied the drive to school 2 in this weather), CH (although didn't put it on until 2.30)
