Paper diary and a calendar at mum's. DS2 lost his phone multiple times when he was at uni and I still regularly see people posting on bookface that they have lost their phone and could all their friends resend their phone numbers. Many years ago a friend showed me how he was moving all contacts (addresses and phone numbers) onto his computer. What happened when his computer went down? Isolation and despair.Back at mum's now. DS3 and Beloved had made significant inroads on the house mess (mostly theirs). Not done everything (and didn't read some of the instructions but the kitchen was a lot clearer and cleaner (not done the floor yet, not even picked things up) and the pots were stacked in neat piles (I labelled the shelves a few weeks ago). However they have managed to block the drain again. None of us has been able to move the handy little hatch for diy ing it ourselves so will have to look their details up on the internet later and try phoning tomorrow (call out is free for the first 3 months I think - had a quick look but couldn't find the receipt).I brought down the bin bag from upstairs and put all their polystyrene containers and sweet wrappers in, made several trips to the paper bin and broke down a box that was delivered whilst I was there, gathered up cans and bottles and picked up a pile of nails and screws left behind when DS3 moved a bag of tools. I've cut lengths of string and put loops on all the handbrushes and dustpans and hung them up. Did a little shop when the weather improved. Was going to take several things from the freezer but realised I will need things when I go back home (Tuesday lunchtime until Wednesday evening) so left things in the freezer and bought what I needed. Spent £24.15 but DS3 gave me £10 back (into the bank) which more than covered the cake and mayo they had requested. Some damage in mum's yard. She had left a little tin of white paint out and it's been hurled off the table, lost it's lid and leaked part way across the yard (diluted by the rain) and the garden swing seat has escaped from it's cover (but it hasn't moved across the yard and the things I put on the seat are still in place. Not even going out for a closer look until the weather is much improved.Today I am grateful for DS3 and Beloved pulling their weight, for being back in my small terraced house (the fence panels at the larger house always came down particularly the first one and I had to go out and prop it up with bins to keep next door's small children safe) and for easy food (used up a lot of what I brought with me but have 'settled for' some replacements eg bought a loaf of 'worthless white bread' to make comforting toast for breakfast instead of yoghurt). When I got in I put all the washing in the machine including the clothes I had been wearing. Mum hadn't noticed and wondered what I was doing in the kitchen and then found I wasn't there (modern house, thin walls, the couch vibrates when the washer goes into the spin cycle)..My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5

Today I am grateful for dd getting 11 hours of sleep to catch up after a trying week, for her Mary Poppins attempts being exhilarating , for a warm dry house, for the fences staying up, for a lovely couple of emails, for some more rugby to watch, for being able to do a nearly normal workout albeit it with a lighter weight.

Just checking in. I think that we've been quite lucky in terms of the storm. We had a cracking hail storm at about 3pm that lasted less than five minutes but so far nothing has been broken or damaged as far as I can tell. Hope all turtles are safe and sound, and all material damage can be sorted once Ciara has moved on through (I would have called ds Ciara if he'd been dd2)
NSD for me - I've become quite obsessed momentarily with budgeting. Not that it's a bad thing but it's kept me busy the past 24 hours or so. I need to pick up my crochet for the first time in 3 weeks now though and have a rest. Just 2 papers left to mark, all my reports are written and I can get on with enjoying life again for a few months, albeit on a very tight budget now...

Small spend (just over £10 actual money after vouchers and coupons) at Tesc0 today, so still on NSD 4. Did get some heavily reduced YS items (although was there probably 45 mins too late for most things). Dinner was easy - leftovers from last night with loads of freshly done veg - just what I like!
Super windy and wet here - lots of roads in the county have been closed due to fallen trees or flash flooding - inc the local slip road onto the M5 - and the exit from the M5 at the same point was then closed because of an accident. We have several previously damaged fence posts and panels which have become more damaged (have been unable to replace as ground has been too wet) - suspect realistically we are looking at maybe Easter now to sort them!
Grateful for: a lull in the weather for a while so we made it to the smkt, CH, easy food, waterproof windows.

Ooh, just seen the long range weather forecast (imaginary shiver emoji) looks like anyone North of / to the East of Brum is going to be in for snow over the next few days. I was just tidying through my drawers and thinking I have not put on my thermals yet this winter. Famous last thoughts. Well it is about time! It is supposed to be winter innit? So, NSD 5 for me today. Not been out but have been busy in the house.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening all, I don't care if it's winter I do not want any snow when I have to drive over 50 miles round trip to work every day
This afternoon I've had a lovely catch up IRL with my friend (we text most days but havent seen each other this year). Then we had a family trip to zumba! Was fun.
Gratitudes:
Lovely catch up with friend at her house over coffee & biscuits - so no spending incurred
Fun family outing to zumba
Fence panels intact for now ....

Hope everyone safe and sound, and not too bothered by the storm. It's been quite windy here but no worse than a typical winter. Lots of trees down round about so there's a lot of roads closed and quite a few local areas have no power, but so far we're ok.
Last night was good fun -first night out of the month. DD loved it and so did I. Today has been a lazy day after not much sleep, but it's also been NSD 6/14.
Gratitudes today- snuggles with DD, fun family nights out, Harry Potter movies and a few sneaky chocolates!
This week has to be minimal spends as I'm away next weekend and it'll be very spendy (budgeted for, but have to be cautious about spends the rest of the month).

Good evening everyone!!!
So yesterday was a spend day as was with the parents...
Today = NSD number 5
I was meant to go to the car showroom today as they had offers on new cars. My 3 years is up in May on PCP and was debating on just handing back and getting another new one (no MOT/Servicing for 3 years)... think I mentioned it previously. Anyway... the wind/storm was so bad outdoors I opted to stay in and cancel... As the event was only this weekend it'll make me see this car out for a while longer.
Yesterday/Today I am grateful for:
1) Fun times out with Mum and Dad and with my Sister
2) The stormy weather today for giving me a day in to catch up and save money
3) Friends I am no longer in touch with
I've done a full moon forgiveness/release ritual tonight to let go of any past hurts and to try and replace the space with feelings of love and gratitude. Feeling peaceful. Catch you all tomorrow xxx⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐
