Can I keep a NSD if all I bought was diesel as I drive through the "town where fuel is cheaper"? If so yesterday was NSD 5/14. Today wasn't as I bought yet more milk and eggs. Tomorrow night is the first "date" of the month. With my parents and DD so not of the romantic nature 😁. It's an annual event we've been going to for a few years, and should see some old friends there so hopefully will be good fun. My fab parents bought the tickets so will take some cash to buy a round of drinks or two and will stay within budget. Have finished a handcream, but that's about it for the beautifying!
Grateful today for teachers at school being approachable and proactive, a task I've been worrying about at work being remarkably straightforward and my hot water bottle- simple things often the best!

I’m still on 2 NSDs I’m afraid.

Hello
I am too old and too set in my ways for this amount of change. Seriously - I go away for a couple of days to be crushed under a pile of marking and come back to no more pretty colours and the weirdest bunch of emojis I've ever seen. I'm sure that they'll get on top of some of the issues though, like no colours etc. but it feels a little like a backwards step at the moment.
Marking however, is just about finished for this round. I have 14 long papers (which arrived late last night, approx. 24 hours after the deadline) to mark, and 6 reports to write. Then I can watch the money come 'rolling' in - which I desperately need after chatting to my mortgage people yesterday - I need to pay down some of the cc before I have a chance of a decent remortgage - so operation 'batten down' has already begun. These things happen and I've gotten over bigger setbacks than this before.
I've had another nsd since I checked in, but did my weekly shop last night (back to Mr S after the disappointment of Mr A) and I have a date day today - meeting up with my crochet friend for a catch up. I need to try and keep the spends below the £20 that I have in my purse if possible. I have a couple of bits I need to get, and we will be getting either coffee or lunch but I will keep a tight hold on my cash and remember that I have a large bill to pay.
Anyway, I am back now and will be on it for the rest of the month. Really on it.

I can't get the quoting to work properly, lord alone knows how you multi quote and I just can't keep track of where I have read up to. Honestly it is pretty bad.

Grateful for:
- birdsong outside my bedroom window in the morning
- the library! DDs and I are ferocious readers and go through 6-10 books and comics per week.
- the potted herbs I bought from the supermarket a fortnight ago still living and giving fabulous smelly and tasty leaves for lunches and dinners.
Definitely a spend day today: €69 shopping, €40 sticker for green bin, hairdresser and shoes (planned for this afternoon).Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.597 -
They did not test it properly before they changed over - there is a 'snagging' thread that is going ballistic, and if you comment on any thread, you get all emails from it, even if you are not subscribed. Lots of problems! But, it does not mean we have to give up. The mysterious 'they' will sort it out.Today I have a flapper cough. I am lazing until lunchtime, and afterwards I am walking up to the local museum and art gallery, and enjoying the dry weather while it lasts before this storm and rain comes in. I got a bit sad last night driving home from DS4s after-school football club, I did not need to put my headlights on. My lovely beautiful darkness is going away!!! Congratulations to all those who are seasonally affected, the longer hours of daylight are definitely coming, I think I have it in reverse. Pass the sunblock and hayfever meds.DS1 has just complained we have no cereal he wants to eat (of the 5 open packets of cereal) in the house, and so I will need to buy some bran flakes (fussy swine) today so will try to combine it with a ys raid later on. I am staying at NSD4,I have re-evaluated the pantry and made a meal plan to do us until half term. I picked up a lot of wraps for 11p a packet a while ago, so they went into the freezer, they are making the basis of a good few meals this week wraps, salady stuff, and something in a bit of cook in bbq sauce (they were 5p a bottle - I bought 20 - I have 12 left), chili, rice and wraps, curry and warmed wholemeal wraps (pretend chapattis). Veg burgers, a tomato and hotdog pasta, a pizza, a roasted root veg with stuffing and gravy, and a toad in the hole. All planned and requiring no other ingredients. There will be no surprises. I will bake this afternoon. Plans for a chocolate sponge, and a golden syrup sponge, and I still have 2 ys Xmas puds. The pot of custard powder is going to take a battering this week. There. I have a plan. Need a small tweak on the lunchbox menu, but mostly I am in control. One week til half term.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Still trying to decide if I should go home for a few hours today or wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow is winning atm as it took me ages to go into the shower. Feel so stupid being so ill (well not feeling ill as long as I stay in bed but sooo slow). I was awake at 6am, used boiled water and cotton wool to wipe my eyes (heading off conjunctivitis before it gets a hold), made a sandwich and had my pills, read for a bit then put my mask on as I was dozing off (another 4 hours +).Think I'm on 6 NSDs but today or tomorrow will be spendy (travel but will be taking it off the food budget). Need to buy bread and possibly yoghurts (although I could substitute with ice cream to save money), think I will swap to using my old face mask (only brought the new one here) and although I brought my WTC renewal paperwork, I forgot the accounts book and the Carers allowance paperwork (could work that out from bank account probably) and I want to see how much progress is 'more than you would expect' (to quote DS3).I have noted a couple of your 'how to's for future reference. I will need to stop all the post by post notifications to my email account but am finding that's the easiest way to get in and out of particular threads for now so delete all but one of them, then use that as a portal (no cake involved) to read the threads I want to. The look of it is bothering me most - might need to switch up a size (may just be illness but at times I'm not sure what I've typedGrateful for reasonable weather (some have snow and rain) being comfortable (warm, snug, well fed), destressing (think it was overdue, I was starting to slip into the 'bad' sleeping pattern. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

I'm a simple soul as far as technology is concerned so I'm just plodding along with the new site. Thanks for all the tips. I'd never figure them out on my own.
So still on NSD No 4 but just some roast beef for Sunday dinner and a few bits and pieces for making meals next week bought today. Quite pleased that I spent less then half of the food budget last week, The rest has been moved to savings.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a really awful day so no plans for leaving the house. I have a HUGE list of things that need to be done so I'm hoping to crack on with all of that.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekend.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Mothernerd - I understand what you say about the sizing. I mean, those teeeny tiny icon thingies and writing under our names?!?!Toni'sfriend - yep, I'm also finding most answers for 'why is it like that and how do I make it do what I want?' on this thread. Thank you everyone!
I can change my siggy, but it doesn't show up on my posts - anyone know why?
