Quiet day today, walk with the pup this morning, then watched tv with bf (we don't often have shared tv interests, so it's nice to catch something together).
Then I had a weary so went for a short nap, that turned into a couple of hours sleep. Rest of the day spent chilling on the pc.

Question everything: - Your habits :- Sax Practice. - Nothing tonight, just fancied chilling.
Ugly, unloved or unused - Minimalist Challenge. Day 6 - Bodyboard, dressing gown, 4 DVDs.
Exercise your mind and body. Hour & half walk with the pup.
Savings. £68.76 transfered to my ISA.
Thankfulness. 1) Thankful for naptime. 2) Thankful for TV time with the bf. 3) Thankful for copious amounts of tea.

    16 NSDS minimum. 3/31 NSD.

Give. Money, time, food. A colleague is doing dry-january, so I will donate to her cause at the end of the month.

Wracked up a NSD so am up to 3/18. This morning I went to visit a place for volunteering, which was a really good way to start the week. Not much else to report, got a £1.50 refund for a cancelled train (doesn't even cover the cab I had to order because they didn't have any more trains but better than nothing). Just been working and did a bit of tidying when I got home. Now just chilling watching TV with OH.

I often forget to post my gratitudes but I do think about them I promise! Today I'm grateful for finding a new volunteering opportunity that fits alongside work, for nice appointments at work and for trying out my new fryer for dinner. Still needs refining but I'm sure I can work it out!

NSD today so now on 4/16 :D. Thankful for being at home in my pjs :), surviving work (incredibly draining day) and finally getting the freezer defrosted.

  • Finally getting round to posting my quest:

Question everything. Yep, every single thing. Your habits, routines, reactions, plans... But not so much that your head explodes…I have fallen out of a lot of good habits from moving, so want to pick some of them back up, like practicing piano and cello four times a week
Ugly, unloved or unused = it goes out of your house to be beautiful, loved and used elsewhere.I joined the 'January cure' so will be doing some of that this month
Exercise your mind and body. We don’t have to do it; we get to do it. I'll keep going to ParkRun when not working, run at least once a week apart from parkrun and go for walks most days.
Savings (not sales, as I presume you have side-stepped around them unless you had planned and budgeted for something). Where can you save? Money. Time. Stress and anxiety. Waste. Plastic.
Thankfulness. Let's look at what we have and be grateful for it. I need to investigate and set up a new savings account, my current regular saver isn't up to much and the bank has hiked its fees recentyl.

    16 NSDS minimum.1/16
Budget. Everything. Food. Travel. Socialising. Hobbies. Bills. Savings. School/work stuff. Birthdays. IN ADVANCE. Finally got aroudn to this and it is ready to go
Post at least three gratitudes daily please. We like to hear what you are thankful for.
I am thankful for late night cuddles and chats with my partner, for the card I got from one of my Brownies and for understanding siblings.
Give. Money, time, food. There are others out there who need you! And look after yourself too. I am looking at ways to give more of myself. The Brownies are great. I keep meaning to sign up to volunteer at Parkrun. I think I will go and email now. And I have long meant to sponsor a child through Plan INternational. Now I have the means, I think it is time.

Ran yesterday and this morning. Washing in the machine which I am hoping to get out on the line in the wind if it stays dry. Saw a gorgeous sunrise this morning, it was in front of us almost the whole drive to school.

Need to walk dog and do online grocery shop today. DD's parents evening tonight, when we have done we are hoping to call into B&Q to get some picture hanging cord for the 3 gorgeous pictures I bought yesterday in a charity shop (paid for with money from an ebay sale), whilst there we plan to look at new flooring for DD's room.

Phew! Long long 17 day holiday. All back at school this morning. Had to poke them awake at 7am. Will do a quick sweep of the top two floors and throw the laundry at the machine. Pay for after school clubs now we know what they are. Did the meter readings and submitted them. Took back a 2 pack of school shirts that only had one in it (grrr!) and they had the right size in stock, so yay! found a £1.50 Leedle bargain f&v box, bought most lunchbox tat for the rest of the term. So have done quite a lot already.

    Gratitudes:
my ability to not take things personally (empty vessels make the most noise)
    a full fruitbowl of loveliness
That I am mostly on top of the cleaning already.

Spend day yesterday - £6 all day bus ticket to get me to my appointment and back, bought a sandwich from little arseda (took 4l of drinksfrom home) as all the shops and eateries at the hospital are expensive, then splashed out on a taxi round to mum's rather than wait 18 minutes at a very exposed bus stop and then have to walk 4 blocks from the nearest stop to her house.

Appointment went well. I knew my mask was leaking (one of the most likely causes of my bloodshot eyes as pressurised air has been attacking them) but thought I had damaged it - I had been cautioned against cleaning the mask in too hot water or leaving it soaking for more than 10 minutes.

However when I was trying on replacement masks to find the best fit the vulnerable points are there from the beginning (weakest bits where they need to be strongest) and the technician said they weakened over time. Ended up with a completely different design which covers a much smaller area of my face (so annoying when you need to scratch your nose and have to take the whole mask off, making sure to turn the machine off first) and the hose now feeds in from the top of my head.

I was in bed by 8.21 pm yesterday evening but did get up again to read for a while. Not the best nght's sleep, will take a couple of days to adjust to the new mask. Then back to the hospital this morning for mum's appointment. She is also doing well and we are going to attempt a further steroid reduction.

In between the two appointments I mended a chair, put a broken box back together to store some of the baubles, made my bed, put the first lot of decorations away in the new location mum has decided upon (need to take other things out to clear the rest of the space), fed us both from things I prepared/ cooked on Friday, put mum's bin out for collection (added some of the rubbish from the bottom of the yard) and did a pill audit.

Since getting home I've binned a pizza box mountain and a polystyrene box mountain (got DS3 and Beloved to collect them), a small bag from my room and a large one from the kitchen, taken books and charitable donations to the library (had reached 27 items so added 3 tins to go in the foodbank box), found another 42p which has gone in my penny collection (mum has been given a large tin of licquorice allsorts which has a slot in the top so when she's eaten the sweets, that will be my penny tin), ate more scraps and leftovers and put my bin out.

I have an energy supplier and two lots of insurance to sort for mum and will probably do a small delivery to her house for Friday. need to try and make that more regular to avoid carrying stuff and having to make frequent trips for odd items. can make it up to the minimum order level by building up stocks of non-perishables.

I have been keeping my brain active by watching the special Christmas University Challenge episodes. I am doing quite well (wish I'd kept score now), beating the teams to a lot of the answers and shouting at the laptop when neither team knew the answers to things I thought perfectly easy.

I suppose life is back to 'normal' now so going forward I have to decide what I want to keep in my life, what I want more of and how I simplify/ streamline the things that 'need' doing to free up more time for fun things.

For yesterday I am grateful for time spent watching a small boy (2-3 yo, his dad was pushing a pushchair) enjoying the 'puddles' on the taxi firm car park - zigzagging between the mostly very small patches, for my new mask (as it only covers the area around my mouth I can actually read with it on - can read till I fall asleep if I set the machine first) and my bed at mum's (she's still got all the cupboards and wardrobes and most of the drawers).

For today I am grateful for mum's continued improvement - we have nearly found the perfect balance of medications to controll her illnesses whilst limiting adverse sideeffects, for lovely taxi drivers and for a bit of 'downtime'.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

My bestie game me some free cinema tickets that were running out, so I went to see 'Spies in Disguise' this morning. Lovely and quiet in the cinema, film was funny.
I went through our carrier bag drawer last night, there were 30ish bags that I have folded and moved upstairs to use in the bathroom bin. We also have about 8 of the big for life bags, bf forgets to put them back in the car so has to buy new ones all the time

Also went through my photo box today, and found lots of funny notes my bestie had sent me, and letters from my mum. Lovely memories.

Question everything: - Your habits :- Sax Practice. - Will do at least 30 mins tonight.
Ugly, unloved or unused - Minimalist Challenge. Day 7 - Old crossstitch, Diffuser sticks, 5 goodie bags from races.
Exercise your mind and body. Walked to cinema & back. Will go for a walk with bf and the pup when he gets home from work. Want to squeeze a run in too tonight.
    Savings.
Thankfulness. 1) Thankful for happy memories. 2) Thankful for the new recliner seats in the cinema. 3) Thankful for family & friends.

    16 NSDS minimum. 4/31 NSD.

Give. Money, time, food. I am piling up my minimalist pile to donate at the end of the challenge.
