Didn't get round to posting yesterday, a couple of really draining days at work. Yesterday I was grateful for having a supportive manager who really listens, chocolate and some fab news from my brother (his wife is pregnant with twins
) and today I'm grateful for OH making me laugh, yummy cauliflower cheese for tea and for the scales showing a little weight loss.

Hello all
Haven't checked in for a few days, but I've been quietly questioning everything. Especially why I procrastinate about things so much. I'm a worrier, or rather, list-making extreme planner...Why do I feel it neccessary to think out all possible end results from a given situation? I think it is so in my head I know how to deal with each outcome, should it arise. But...its exhausting.
I'm slowly decluttering my house of all the dust trap ornaments and other bits and bobs, such as chipped wine glasses (base, not bowl) old bottle openers, shoeboxes stored "just in case". Of what?
I've managed 11,862 steps today and that's without much effort. Tomorrow I will try to hit 12,000.
Still no savings of money being stashed - in fact, my monthly amount payable seems to be creeping higher, slowly but surely
I am thankful to have a roof over my head in this cold and wet weather, for my semi-competant bakery skills ( apple and cinnamon cake, which is lush) and for cuddles with Tiny on the sofa this afternoon.

apple - ouch, hope you are ok.
misstara - congratulations to your brother, they will have their hands full.
Was going to cycle today but it is wild here so I will see how the weather goes and may run later.
Went to the dentist yesterday but they were running late and I had another appointment to get too so I didn't actually have anything done, I'm glad really, I had some x-rays and a good chat with the dentist and it seems that the fact that I am clenching my teeth at night may be causing all the pain I am having, I do need a filling replacing but she wants to let things settle before she does it so I am back to wearing my night guard and have an appointment in a few weeks.
Had my eyes tested and have ordered glasses for driving and for watching tv, I opted out of varifocals and anti glare lenses which kept the costs down. Paid for them but collect them next week.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Good news car back and I didn't have to walk to work this morning so cold out there.
Bad news £500 added to my debts and booked the car in for new cambelt as well next week £350. Added these both onto my debts to get rid of this year now stands at £2600. Hoping this car will last me another year or two now.
Bad news less excercise done yesterday as collected car 9k only walked.
Yesterday topped up on fruit, veg and Milk small Lidl spend.
Today will be a spendy day Hairdressers bare minimum will be getting done.
Grateful for
My car back even though I was like a learner driver yesterday Kangaroo jumps with new clutch.
Nice evening in watching a film with a naughty glass of wine.
Having eaten all the chocolate in the house last night, diet may start now.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Question everything: - why have I kept all this tat? Tiny little bits and things are all being tossed in a cardboard box, and will be looked at later. Nearly all rooms are cleaned, hoovered and tat free - the kitchen / baking stuff is next. There is some old stuff in there that needs to be retired.
Ugly, unloved or unused - 'In-between' or 'grown out of' size school kit has been put into recycled A4 plastic envelopes, sealed, labelled, and stored on the shelves above the washing machine until the next one gets that big. One bag for life of destroyed clothes ready to go to off as rags. The baking stuff will be assessed next.
Exercise your mind and body.- lots of walking backwards and forwards in the house -much less sitting. Also weights and stairs workout at the f/b 3 x a week
Savings, - dh has taken over the remortgage process (and don't we all know about it. OMG how much can one medium sized man whine? anyway, probably only another 3 or 4 phone calls before it is all sorted). We will save £20 every month for the next 5 years. I have spent the morning making sure all cc's are paid, all budgets are set, and any other money has been shunted into savings pots (easy access/ transferable). Once the kids regular savers pay out in March I am jumping banking ships and taking up the Shanghai banks £175 bribe (where the mortgage will be).
Thankfulness
- HUGE monthly energy bill of £140 for December - but I still have £130 credit! woo hoo! (it is usually £60 but dh was working from home for 3 weeks and kept the heating on practically the whole time).
- £2 amazon vouchers used to drop the price of 10 Henry bags to less than £3
- Everyone noticed I had wasted 5 hours cleaning, clearing, and tidying the kitchen, and remarked on it.
- only 2 rooms left to inspect, but these are the ones that are difficult and I get to and then give up. Not this time! I have motivation. I bet half the stuff in there can probably go.
Ouch apple! The MudMan only defeated you in the first battle, now you know your adversary you can work out his weakness and exploit it (or avoid mud). Splosh.

Grateful to be back on a new project with my own students, for old colleague who called me to teach higher level students near me, and for a great run last night - before it really started raining.

Hello Everyone x
Apple - Ouch, hope you are not too hurt.
NSD number 5 as DD is off school sick so I've had to take the day off work so not going anywhere near shops.
It's DSs 11th Birthday, presents all purchased in the sales.
Thankful for
1) A safe delivery of DS 11 years ago.
2) The little voice in my head that told me to nip to Mozzas the other night which led me to getting £35 of food for £4! Plenty for the weeks meals ahead.
3) Blankets and fluffy socks keeping me and DD warm and cosy without being able to have the heating on.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
:bdaycake:Happy birthday to your ds, Pips mum.
Thank you for all your sympathy re my encounter with MudMan. I walked very very carefully along that stretch of pavement this morning when it was still dark! And back along it after lunch in daylight, where there was only a smidge of mud, so it was quite a feat for MudMan to actually get me yesterday...
I feel the need to point out that 1 day of lots of activity does not a fit turtle make :rotfl:. Cos I'm quite a fat turtle who eats rather too much! But part of my January quest is to work on that.

:(Not a great day today due to some personal problems (not mine) going on around me, and a funny night’s sleep that feels like no sleep.
I was hoping for an NSD but I think I’ve messed it up. Popped to sainsbugs for one item which they pay me for (more in points than it costs) and a shopmium item which would have been free IF I had got the receipt! So I spent £1 which I can’t reclaim:(
I had hoped to get things quite sorted today but with all the stuff going on and feeling so tired, I’m going to just do the basics and have an early night, start again tomorrow whenI’m doing my first volunteering shift distributing food which would otherwise be wasted. So that’s my Give- time, money, food.Jan 20 - NST challenge
