    Evening all :)
Stll on NSD 3 / 16, as we went to a market in a neighbouring town and bought carrots, potatoes and bread, and 2 books from a CS. So only small spends.
Took with me, and donated to the CS some of the items I have been decluttering - 5 glass bowls, a ceramic bowl, a new piece of net curtain and an enamel oven dish :) Doing quite well with this, given the piles of paper and 2 old mattress covers that have already left this week :)
All food was from home and we didn't have coffee out (very rarely do). More of the turkey and veg soup I made yesterday for lunch and am doing jacket potatoes, salad with HM coleslaw and cold meat slices from the freezer for dinner.

Apart from that, walking the dog, sorting out a couple of things in the garden and a bit of sorting out in the larder, I have been quite lazy today :o Need to up my game tomorrow as the housework needs doing and a cake to make for visitors at the weekend.
OH fixed the lights under the wall cabinets in the kitchen, which I was a bit dubious about, but all seems ok :)
Grateful for nice food, a relaxing day and great markets.

Evening all! Sorry for the absence of 31! Tuesday through to today have been NSDs, so now at 5/16! Tuesday I just zonked out after I got home, and yesterday I was a little too busy to do much else. However, now we're back on schedule!

I am thankful for Little Turtle's weaning progress, SWMBO's support for when I've come home knackered (despite looking after LT all day!) and a new veg box!

    Making curry tonight!

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)

    Hello everyone

Very pleased to report I'm on NSD no: 7. Annoyingly, yesterday I had to top up my boys' lunch money account which was blinking red at me... They only really have school meals on rare occasions, but December was rather hit and miss with all the festive outings, plays and Christmas fairs.

I was quite tired today, but managed to get a lot of tidying done and our middle room is gleaming :D. All the ironing is up to date and I have a small pile of items to mend (would previously binned these, so a frugal step forward for me) which I'll try to do over the next couple of days.

Thankful today for my chickens who have started laying eggs in abundance again, for an electrician friend who has swapped a favour from me for a new outside socket and for my boys, who are my world x
  • Hello :hello:
Apologies turtles but this is one seriously tired superhero. I've tried to keep the cape on all week, but it didn't work in court (another large bill and another appointment to come). It's working in the no-spend area of life but only because I'm so busy at work, and not sleeping so just tired when I'm at home so not doing anything.
Have amassed a total of 6 nsds, have sorted 3 binbags of clothes for the charity collection tomorrow and loads of really efficient work. But very little else - so there's nothing even half interesting to report.

I'm on 5 NSDs. The cough and sneezing which has mildly irritating for the past week has taken a turn for the worse so I've spent most of the day in bed, keeping warm and hydrated and doing whatever I could manage when I stood up. I even had a little sleep this afternoon.

Drain crisis has reached the point where DS3 googled drain rods and watched a few U-tube videos on how to do it. There are some possible places locally to buy a set in the morning (have also left another message for the builders - hope they're not already in the airport). The main snag now is that it looks like I (or DS3?) will have to chip out the brick surround to the drain and chip out the grid cover or break it - I have been trying to avoid this. I was sure I had brought the bolster chisel back from mum's but couldn't find it when I looked.

Today I am grateful for a good book, getting my pillows in just the right position (my back and other aching bits would have sighed if they could) and easy to eat food (this may be why I was craving rice pudding, things to go with custard and ice cream yesterday - I resited going to buy them).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Evening everyone!!

A quick check in this evening as is my bed time ;)

End of my working week which is nice. Managed another NSD...

    Today = NSD :starmod: 8

    Today I am grateful for:

    1) Laughs and giggles at work
    2) TV on demand and all the amazing programmes on offer without needing to pay for a TV licence
    3) My warm bed which is looking very inviting!!!

Had a glass of wine tonight and really not sure alcohol agrees with me anymore... Within an hour of having it I feel like I am drunk and could just fall asleep! Perhaps it's my medication haha... must read up on that!

Off to bed for me and hopefully a productive day tomorrow.

    Goodnight all x

    Evening all,

No NSD today, I had the shopping delivered. I always order enough to feed a small army, I don't know why I keep doing it :rotfl: still, nothing goes to waste in this house, it just means I have to play tetris to fit it all in the freezer! Have enough food for about 10 days, will just need to top up on fresh bits for us and the rabbits. As it was a NSD I also bought some bamboo toothbrushes (found them online much cheaper than normal), boxing wraps as I go to a boxing gym class but sometimes hurt my wrists, and nasal strips as according to OH I snore and these apparently make it a little better :A

Today I'm grateful for it nearly being the weekend, for painkillers as my back has flared up, and for the reaction a teenager I work with had when I gave her a colouring book and some pencils. She's in care and she was just so pleased when I said it was for her, she's really hard to work with but this put a smile on both our faces (I didn't have the heart to tell her it was a 2018 Christmas gift that's sat in a drawer ever since, I'm just glad she liked it).
  • Hello everyone
Long day covering about 250 miles. Took DD2 to hospital for a test, results next week. Then took her to uni via supermarket to top her up with supplies.
Made it home in time to go to pilates, wasn't in the mood but glad I went as stretched me out after all the time in the car.
    Gratitudes:
    the NHS
DD2 accepting invasive hospital test without any fuss and coping well afterwards
pilates teacher who plans great classes and is encouraging and inspiring

Proud of NSD yesterday so have decided to celebrateNSD days in my spending spread sheet with the colour pink :-) as that will help me keep track.

  • Not doing very well on NSDs, still only at 2/16. I need to plan my meals a bit better so I don't end up buying lunches on work days and so I don't buy things in dribs and drabs.

I am grateful for the the beautiful clear skies and full moon; getting the two weekends off that I need so that I can go do Guide things, the sunrise alarm clock I got for Christmas that is making dark mornings so much easier.
