mothernerd - if they like crafts/sewing I doubt the gift will be misconstrued.

Have been to Asda twice - a little one and a big one. Have stocked up with vegan things whilst they are all on offer for veganuary.

Lit a fire today - well DH did and then we watched The Blair Witch Project, this was the dvd I had been hunting down, I think I will hang onto it for a while but many of the others we have get redonated after being watched.

The bags are packed, the boarding pass printed and I'm off on my first big adventure of this year. Amsterdam until the end of the week and then on to Paris. Lots of walking planned and hopefully lots of laughter and meeting new people. All those wonderful French cakes might scupper the weight loss for a little while but I promise I will make up for it.
    Have a great trip

Mothernerd - the sewing kits sound great. Go for it!

Today I am grateful for a chilled day, for getting on top of sch prep, for doing some online training, for my workout, for my 10mm workout mat and sandbag, for my multi-needle needle stabbing implement arriving, for a chance to plot and plan and ponder.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes :D It was a good day.

Met up with some friends today for coffee, I had a slice of cake too (no birthday cake yesterday so why not). Also bought nail clippers for the pup and cuttlefish for the tortoise as I knew it was a spend day.

Question everything: - Your habits :- Sax Practice. - Just a quick 15 minutes, wasn't in the mood so thought this was better than nothing :p
Ugly, unloved or unused - Minimalist Challenge. Day 5 - Five empty cd cases (lost the cds when my car was broken into a couple of years ago.)
Exercise your mind and body. Dragged myself out for the first run of the year today. Just 1.5 miles, but more to get the legs moving again. My 10k is next week.
    Savings.
Thankfulness. 1) Thankful for coffee and gossip with friends. 2) Thankful for my friend reminding me I'd bought a new game a while ago I haven't played yet (plans for tonight). 3) Thankful for forcing myself out for a run.

16 NSDS minimum. 2/31 NSD. Spendy day today.

Give. Money, time, food. A colleague is doing dry-january, so I will donate to her cause at the end of the month.

Ugly, unloved or unused = - am looking to achieve 2020 things out in 2020 :) (5.5 items/ day) - only a few items added todaycurrent tally 60/ 2020
Exercise your mind and body. We don’t have to do it; we get to do it. - want to do 310000 steps in Jan as a start - easing in as have a lingering chest infection which cold weather is really not helping - currently 34000/ 310000 - need to up my game massively!
Savings Where can you save? Money. Time. Stress and anxiety. Waste. Plastic. - Some sweets we won;t eat given to a friend and fruit from last Summer turned into crumbles for DS1 to take back to uni.
    • 16 NSDS minimum. 2. Birthday lunch for DS2 today (will be 14 tomorrow - same as dolly's son :D) - cost reduced by using a reward voucher and then they messed up on a dessert so gave us a different one and refunded the full cost of the one they messed up on. Also spent at Icyland on some things for DS1 so bought other things too, as had a one-use 10% off voucher

    Evening all :)
NSD 3 / 16 for me today. We have been out, but it was to visit DD1 in the next county, and it only cost the fuel to get there (which was already in the car lol).
Loving all the talk of decluttering - I have 3 large old trunks to go through, two of which contain bedding, spare curtains, blankets etc and the other paperwork. I bet there is stuff in those that can go!
Grateful today for seeing DD1, who isn't having an easy time of it at the moment, and lives further away than my other children so I don't see her so often; for a warm dry house to come back to and for OH doing the driving (I can drive, but don't like it much, whereas he does).
  • Evening everyone
Today has been a spend day. Went to town with DD2 and we got our earlobes pierced - seconds for me, first for her. I had budgeted for this but was less than I expected. We went for a coffee but came home for lunch to save money. She has been away for most of Christmas and goes back to uni tomorrow so it was lovely to spend time with her. Taken down all the decorations and added a few more unloved items to the charity bag.
Posted a birthday card earlier and went the long way round to get some steps in.
DD1's bestie came for tea which DD2 cooked for us.
    Gratitudes:
    Nice day out with DD2
    Lovely family tea
Chilled eve with both DDs before back to the grindstone tomorrow

Question everything: - Your habits :- Cooking: - Store cupboard cooking. Question: What can I do with these lentils? Sudoku. - Trying to do at least five medium difficulty puzzles daily, rather than three easy/medium.
Ugly, unloved or unused - Using some leftover screws and rawlplugs for a project at work rather than letting them just sit in the house.
Exercise your mind and body. Lots of walking today. To and from town rather than getting the bus. Today was roughly 18000 steps, yesterday was a similar amount.
    Savings.
Thankfulness. 1) Thankful for lentils and the ragout they made. 2) Thankful for Little Turtle liking the ragout I made. 3) Thankful for the social club nearby.

16 NSDS minimum. 2/16 NSD today. Whilst a technical purchase was made, it was on behalf of work and will be reimbursed tomorrow. No purchases made for me or mine today.

Give. Money, time, food. I need to sort out Standing Order with church for regular donations. Also need to look into sorting out a few DDs for charities. Secondary bank gives me £3.50 for the first two DDs that I set up, presuming I meet the other conditions regarding money in the account etc.
    Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)
