I switched to Yorkshire Energy & my smart (not very!) meters do no work with my new supplier. So had to give manual reading, not really to bothered as all suppliers are going to be forced to start rolling out smart meters in the coming months.

My meters are the latest V2, can read the Electric one myself but not the gas one.

Forget the portable IHD toy, just read the meter on the wall.

My BG Account is finally showing as being closed online today and my switch to Yorkshire Energy is official....it shows a final balance owed but do find it strange that they tell you what they think you owe but don’t provide a bill for this charge? It really is an odd way of doing business? Still no word from the Breeze Administrators as to what if any final bill we can expect from them?
My account says 'Energy Closed £0'

Tap on down arrow, then on BIlling.

    A list of bills appears.

A bit misleading because the list of bills suggest I own an additional £39.64 - I've already paid a previous bill from BG.

Viewing the bills reveals that BG owes me about £5.  Two new ones that have appeared are recalculations of the initial one using real, rather than estimated, final meter readings.

Just a thought those who have gone to Avro or indeed another provider did you still have to give a meter reading if you have smart meters?
Currently Avro don't use smart meters ,so you have to supply manual readings. Many of the smaller suppliers haven't started to roll out yet ,so I suspect that many of us MoneySavers will be supplying meter readings for 2 or 3 more years at best!
  • I can't read the gas one can the electric one it has a display like my old one did.
Do you think I would be able to get a dial gas meter back?
Or I would have to choose other than Avro?

If the gas meter is broken, inform your supplier who should arrange a replacement.
