A job that you keep putting off doing for one reason or another. It comes from a quote somewhere... I have a whole list of them and try to do at least one every day.
Big thanks to the cats for waking me up before 6 this morning. Not that I care that much though because I'm on holiday for a fortnight :T Not a lot planned for today - present wrapping if I get time where the kids are doing other things, and taking dd out to get her nails done (part of her Christmas present from her gramps). Other than that, rest and relax! Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

I don't have a lot to do now just keep on top of thingsI made madam tidy her room yesterday to keep on top of it and her elf commented on how nice it looked(;) ) she is now full of motivation to keep it that way
* hang up washing & put a mountain of washing away
* 2 quick jobs in the bathroom & vacuum d/s
* wash fabric for ds' baby blanket
* try not to spend much money but will get drinks and snacks for at the show
* hopefully we can park for free and walk to theatre
*decorate gingerbread house with madam
That's all I need to doother than that just general Christmasy fun :xmastree:

Trailingspouse the frog thing also comes from if you had a list of things to do and one of them was to eat a frog, you’d do it first to get it out of the way
Determined your day sounds lovely have a great time.
We’re out today, armed with a picnic and drinks. Tickets bought back in the summer. Memories to be made.
Other things:
Picnic made from what we had, used some hm sausage rolls from freeze for much needed freezer space
Bought drinks, also get drink and mince pie included in the ticket so no need to buy more
Tea from stores
Wrap some presents only managed 4 yesterday.... this is becoming a frog
Triage fridge
Vacuum through
Clean a small area of utility
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
Afternoon all
Dawn, I hope you're not feeling so low today.
Well done on your challenge Ally!
Dnms & Pf, sounds like you have lovely days planned.
 to all
A very spendy (and unplanned spendy) day here as dh's car was back in the garage. They've fixed it but it does need to go back for one more thing in the New Year.
For the rest of the afternoon we're home, under blankets watching films and eating what we have in so no more spending today at least!
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon folks,
A late check in from me but lovely reading all your small things.
On the subject of frogs, I took a crochet frog to mil's yesterday in the hopes that I can finish it over Christmas while we're there. Did one square yesterday. Got the bus home, despite OH's and mil's protests (OH offered to pick me up from hers at 1am when he finished work  AS IF!)
I was feeling really well yesterday but I have paid for it today by waking up with a cough. Seems I can't be well for more than 5 minutes
Today's things:
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores - done
:heartpuls Posted ebay parcel as didn't do this yesterday due to various things - done
:heartpuls Started mil's Christmas choccies. See how far I get with these. - done. Made a really good start. Some bits for OH to do tomorrow. After all, it's his mum and I let him sleep all day!
:heartpuls General tidy round as everywhere seems to be a mess? - ongoing
:heartpuls Have a little play with allotment planning website - done
:heartpuls Sew eyes onto cat coasters - doneand use spray starch
:heartpuls Mum's replacement earring arrived. Email seller to thank them and wrap gift - done
:heartpuls Check status of dad's gift. Hopefully arriving on Monday. - done. Still says "printing" despite an email saying it would be dispatched. Who knows. I've not been impressed with this company this time round which is a shame as they were very good last time.
:heartpuls Used up last of Bailey's cream in a coffee - done
Have a good one all

Evening all
Feeling a bit more positive today - had smallest grandchildren round for most of the day, so no choice really.
Still no heating or hot water, apart from our wood stove, lots of kettles and an electric radiator and a rather pants electric shower on the top floor. He will hopefully be able to come on Monday evening, and if not between Christmas and New Year. He is very busy, and it isn't surprising that he has prioritised bookings that he already had in advance, and emergency callouts where they have only gas for heating and hot water, especially where there are children or vulnerable old folk. OH and I are getting on a bit, but are tough old so and sos, and are rightly treated as such :rotfl:
Washed hair and left to dry naturally
Made a loaf in the BM
Made biscuit dough, as apparently GD wanted to make nativity biscuits and it had to be at Grandma's house. Easier to make the dough before they turned up, as GS won't let me put him down. It won't be forever, my eldest GS was a bit like that, and he is much taller than me now :rotfl:
GD sang a song she had learned for her school Christmas play :heartsmil
GD and DD decorated the Christmas tree, though my OCD will kick in shortly and I will have to tidy it up a bit :rotfl:
Fed everyone lunch, though in fairness, OH prepared it, from food we already had in
Started GD off with her biscuits. Made DD get off her phone and help her, as I had GS on one arm :rotfl: Goodness me, it got very sticky and there were sprinkles everywhere, but she was happy with the result and took them home proudly to show Daddy
They then wanted to paint, and GS got very wet :rotfl:
Heaved a sigh of relief when they went home, hoovered up the crumbs the dog had rejected, and loads of sprinkles. It is still pretty sticky, and I will need to tackle that next.
Had a brainwave and did an online shop from Iceland, can't get everything I want from there, but got some of it, and free delivery scheduled for tomorrow :T
DD1 and her family left for Scotland this morning
And DS and his GF left for Australia
Dinner will be single portions of 2 different veg curries from the freezer, which I will share between us with some rice0 -

Thanks all - I've been reading this column for years, and wondered why you all had so many frogs to deal with...
Today is my last shift (10 - 4:30 followed by a meeting) before Christmas, but the boss is taking out for a meal after the meeting so can't really complain.
I've then got 4 days off, but I've drawn the short straw over New Year (working until 9pm New Year's Eve, starting at 7am New Year's Day).
One of the PTs from the gym I go to is doing an acoustic set at the local pub and some of us are going to go along. I'll only have one drink, but I'm going to use my 'I don't need much sleep' card to advantage - planning on staying until midnight then I'll make my excuses and head to bed. I often only have 5 hours sleep a night anyway, so it should be fine...
Got paid back yesterday for a purchase I made for work - and it was the boss who reminded me to claim it!! I like working for someone who makes sure things are done right. As soon as I'd filled the form in she went and got me the money, no hassle, no delay.
I'm also waiting for a refund from edf. They owed me three separate sums of money - £193 refund on my electric, £71.65 on my gas, and £70 from the early exit fees which they agree to waive. I've had the £193 and the £70, but not the £71.65, which they promised would be in my account by 9th Dec. I've been ringing them pretty much every day since 10th Dec, and their system seems to be down - I was sympathetic to begin with, but I'm losing patience now.
And finally I seem to have a problem with a transfer of money that I've just made - I wanted to pay off the last of my debt before the New Year (£1770 on a car loan). I'd saved enough to do it, and transferred the amount across from my savings account to my current account - it's gone out of the savings account but it hasn't hit the current account, and it's two days now. Lines open at 8am so that's what I'm going to do right now. I'm sure it'll be sorted out (I know I transferred it to the correct account) - but it's a bit worrying in the meantime.
Quick update - I've just come off the phone with the bank that I have my savings account with - they agreed that the transfer was done before 5pm on the day so should have transferred immediately. But they had some sort of system glitch (there's a pattern developing here...) so it may not have happened until after 5, meaning it won't actually transfer until the next working day - which is tomorrow. So - it if doesn't arrive tomorrow they'll be the first to know about it, but in the meantime I need to just not worry about it. They confirmed that it was sent to the correct account and so on, so no worries on that score.
I really want to get the loan paid off straight away so I'm going into the New Year debt free!! It was only £57 a month, but I can do a lot with that now that it's not going to repay the debt, and I've saved a bit of interest by paying it off early as well.
Have yourselves a Merry little Christmas, and a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.

Morning folks!
Another day of feeling fairly good. I'm enjoying this
Dawn - I hope you're feeling better today xx
Trailingspouse - I hope all ok with the money transfer
Well it's work for me today but I need to pester OH to do some things so that's I'm not inundated at 6pm.
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores
:heartpuls OH came back from his brother's with a load of freebie healthy-ish snack bars. Have brought a few boxes into work to stash in my drawer as emergency snacks to keep me out the choccy box - done
:heartpuls Check PMP - done
:heartpuls Charge phone in work - done
:heartpuls Get OH to hang washing out - done
:heartpuls OH to make headway with his mum's chocs - done
Have a good one all
