ZIggy, I hope your mum (and you) are doing ok.
:waves: to all
Not much to report today as its been a day mainly spent clearing the garden.
I've put washing away that was dry (no need to iron - yay)
I've been to the gym and refilled water bottle there
I've been to aldeee and stuck to my list with the exception of a punnet of plums as they looked nice.
All other meals from stores.
Right the kids are delayed home from school so I'm going to grab a quick cuppa and five minutes peace!
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hope your Mam is feeling better soon Ziggy. And I’m over the moon at finding someone else who calls squash ‘dilute’, I get laughed at but that’s what I call it!
It’s been a bit of a hit and miss week. Had to spend £2.50 on parking at work and bought a coffee with the last £3 I had in my purse. I then spilt the coffee all over myself when I tried to take the lid off! That’s the universe telling me not to waste money on takeaway drinks.
It was pay day yesterday so I ordered the last of Mr Pea’s Xmas stuff. One of the things I ordered off Amazon yesterday is now £26 cheaper today!! I tried to cancel the item but was too late and have been told I’d have to return it when it gets delivered, wait for a refund then re-order it if I want it at the lower price. I’m so annoyed. I think this is the universe telling me not to shop at Amazon.
In more positive news we’re getting the £200 overpaid service charge taken off December’s rent. This will now pay for us having a patio laid in our garden (Mr Pea is disabled and I’m 6 months pregnant so unfortunately we can’t do it ourselves).
We have a wedding to go to in January and I’ve stuck to the budget I had allocated to get some decent shoes and a bag. I’d already bought a maternity dress from a usually expensive maternity brand for a bargain £20 from their outlet. The shoes and bag were both heavily discounted, yey.
I’ve been collecting donations for a local charity’s Xmas hamper scheme so dropped that off after work.
We bought a cot bed and mattress in the sales which came yesterday. Spent far less on it than we could have done and we’re really happy with it.
Need to tackle the bedroom cupboard at the weekend so hopefully we’ll have some stuff to sell

it's really weird but putting on some loud music setting an alarm for 30 and making a room tidy and clean really does lift my spirits!

Hi all!
Hope you mum is on the mend soon Ziggy.
Had a NSD yesterday, so that was good but wasn't feeling great so sat on the sofa most of the evening while husband sorted out the kids and chores (he's a good'un) but I did enter some competitions so not a complete waste of time.
Today was payday and there was money left in my account for a change! So things are getting better!
We treated ourselves to a Chinese (first takeaway in about 3 months!) so I don't feel too guilty.
Tomorrow the house needs a very good clean and there are some bits and pieces to put on ebay and some stuff for the charity shop. And maybe even a tip run!
The 3 kids will be persuaded to have a good clean of their bedrooms whilst me and husband attack the conservatory which seems to have become a bit of a dumping ground recently.
Christmas shopping will commence this weekend too, maybe even get the decorations and tree from the loft!mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -

Hi Everyone
Thanks for all your well-wishes for mum, she's still at home but has to really be careful - this second lot of antibiotics seem to be relieving some of the symptoms but she's struggling to breathe.
Not much achieved again, DS still at home but has at least stopped being sick. Off to see the grand-kiddies tomorrow so most of the day will be spent in the car. Today went like this:
Checked Bank & made PAD
Washing
Ordered a couple more present with discount codes and cashback.
Swagbucks (easy SWAGO board available)
Purged a few emails
Entered a few comps
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Checked: Lucky Bob, PMP, WinaDinner
Read book
Off to bed now, night all!

Morning folks!
A beautiful start here today. Very cold and frosty though. The front of my house faces directly east and there's nothing on the other side of the road apart from a friend and some trees so we get treated to the most gorgeous sunrises at this time of the year.
Today's things:
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores - done
:heartpuls Work on aunt and uncle's Christmas coasters - see saga below!
:heartpuls Put chilli in slow cooker
:heartpuls Make sure my food for work tomorrow is all sorted
:heartpuls Go to the allotment for an hour and start making some progress - done
:heartpuls OH gigging - done
:heartpuls Set monthly budget - done
:heartpuls Get advent calendars out while OH at work and fill his. We have one that I made a couple of years ago that we take turns to fill for the other. Last year it was filled with cherry moams and liqueur choccies for me. Sluuuurp - done
Have a good one all. Stay warm

Morning all

CLF, it was frosty here too when I got up just after 6, but looked outside again just now and it has already gone off and just looks damp, with a grey sky
Today's list:
HG fruit from freezer with breakfast - this saves loads, as I have fruit with breakfast 99% of the time, don't really mind what kind.
Sort out airing cupboard and hang current load of washing from airer in there to finish off (so pleased I went with plumber's suggestion of putting a small radiator in there, it is so useful)
Ironed posh frock which I plucked up the courage and washed despite it being Dry Clean Only on the label. We don't have a dry cleaner's in this town any more unfortunately and I hadn't got round to taking it elsewhere since I wore it to a wedding a few weeks ago and GS got his dinner on it. Anyway, I put it on on a cold wash and a slow spin and it was fine :T And it saved the 6 or 8 quid it would have cost to get it cleaned
First day of pre Christmas visitors shenanigans. I have 6 year old GD coming to stay overnight while her Mum is at a spa weekend thing with friends. DD reckoned her OH would have enough to deal with having GS, who is a 'terrible two' atm so would I have the other one :rotfl: Not particularly unusual her staying over, but my brother is also staying overnight after his works do  I reluctantly agreed to this, but god help him if he comes in really drunk / being sick / making a row etc. So got beds to sort out, including one in the dining room  GD now asleep, I will join her in the guest room before too long I think (it is on a different floor, and she doesn't want to sleep up there alone). She decided she now likes the Brambly Hedge stories, which were too long for her before, so we read a couple of those. I love the pictures of little mice in cosy homes with roaring fires:)
Bed made up for bro in the dining room, riot act duly read with regards to potential for mess etc
More cleaning needed, starting with the dining room (before the bed shenanigans) Cleaned the window and windowsill, and put some of my hyacinths in vases along there, as they now have a couple of cm of shoot growing from the top
Also did some cleaning in the guest room (OH helped). Didn't realise it was that dirty
The kids use it as a playroom, and my sales stuff is in and out of there, so hardly surprising really I suppose. I will 'de-kid' it tomorrow once GD has gone home, put all the toys away in the eaves cupboard and all the frightful necklaces they have festooned over the dress dummy and the dressing table mirror (they love it when I buy a bag of vintage jewellery, it is worth the few pounds for the hours of entertainment it provides, 9 and 12 y o GDs love it, as well as the little one :rotfl:)
Make a loaf in the BM Done
Continue with shopping list, but don't think I need to go today Didn't go!
Message next week's visitors and ask about dietary requirements (trust me, there are bound to be some ) Not yet
Had sandwiches for lunch, more pesto pasta for dinner
Hope everyone has a good day
Thoughts are with everyone affected by the dreadful event in London yesterday
