Thanks Clouds. Yes, 'vertigo' sometimes classic like everything spinning but usually just feeling of everything going a bit wonky, slopes are the worst, Also looking up and down in shops!

Ate the exercises like the Epley one? Been doing that! Anyway thanks and yes please.

I've PM'd you - she said mine was vestibular-ocular I think. Also look up PPPD - persistant postural perceptural dizziness (not BPPV)

  • Afternoon all, and thanks 1LL for starting us off. Lynneee - you sound like you've made a good start!!

I haven't been on for ages - hours have been increased at work, so doing frequent 9 hour shifts at the moment. But today I just worked 7am to 12 noon, so here I am!!

Back to normal now after a bit of a spendy week when I was away visiting my son. It's amazing how coffees and the odd lunch and entrance fees to places we wanted to visit, plus petrol and three nights in a hotel, mount up!! I also had a problem with my hamstring which involved a couple of visits to the physio (£90). And I did my Christmas shopping!! It was all budgeted for, but still a shock when it hits the credit card - I've had to move money from my savings to cover it, which always hurts - but that's what the money was there for, so at least that means my system is working!!

My parents gave me a cheque for my birthday, which was really kind of them - but I need to go and pay it in. I don't think they realise what a pain it is!! My normal bank branch is about 5 miles away, but I have another account (shared with ex-OH, only used for our mortgage payments) which I can walk to - so I'll walk up there, pay it in, come home, send the money from that account to my normal account online, then email him to tell him what I've done.

It's raining cats and dogs, and it's starting to get dark, so I'm very tempted to not bother - but if I wait until the weather's nice, I could be waiting a long time!!

Next job is to strip my bed and wash the bedding. I put a couple of loads of washing round the radiator yesterday evening, so that should be just about dry - I'll stick it in the tumble dryer for 20 - 30 minutes, just to finish it off (and it softens the towels, which means I don't need conditioner...). Then when the bedding's washed it can go round the same radiator, ready for it coming on at about 4:30.

I'm sitting at my desk at the moment, with just a small heater (the central heating isn't due to come on yet and I refuse to cave in!!). I should probably switch the light on, but the computer screen is back lit so I don't really need any other lighting at the moment. I also don't have the heating on in the house when I'm at work, apart from about an hour before I get home if I'm working evenings. With the increased hours, that should be saving me a bit!! I'm definitely a paid-up member of the thick-socks-and-extra-jumper-brigade.

    Keep warm and dry everyone.
    xx

    Evening Everyone

Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

DNMS - Happy Birthday, hope you've had a great day!

Apologies for my lack of input, just been trying to get well, stay well and keep all the balls in the air. Quick trip into Town this morning which helped to get a few jobs done/bits collected and take a few things off my mind. Today has looked like this:

    Checked Bank & made PAD
RM surveys prepped and up to date
    Posted FB Sale
Finished mum's Christmas shopping (now just need to wrap once all delivered - have said will wrap at weekend but can't manage that and all the cleaning as well, gave her flat a real good clean yesterday as well as changing bedding etc)
Wrapped all the pressies we have so far and popped away - before bed I MUST update our list of what's still needed and maybe then I'll be able to stop my mind overthinking/whirling and keeping me awake
Returned jeans which are too big and too wide (maybe I need a different style since losing weight)
Collected DS from college ill (been in bed all day)
    Washed & dried mum's bedding
    Ironing
    Swagbucks
    Purged a few emails
    Entered a few comps
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
    Checked: Lucky Bob, PMP, WinaDinner
    Read book

    Have a great evening!

  • Hi Everyone,
I might struggle this week with spends, but here are my plans:
4 NSD (Mon, Tues, Thur, Sun)
Email uni about spreading out fees (£2000 due in Jan,and £1000 already paid for a course that runs from Jan 2020 to Jan 2021 )
Eating out of the freezer and cupboards as much as possible - I'm thinking some kind of bean soup or chilli
Do the Christmas planning that I wanted to do last week, make sure I don't buy stuff I already have
Looking forward to using YNAB for the first time on payday - YNAB isn't very moneysaving but students get it for free for a year :)

Think that is it for me this week

So this evening I managed to wait an extra hour before putting the heating on.
But I have to say, I'm very proud of myself as I've just been to Aldi and have only spent £22! (normally would of been at least £40). I took a list and actually stuck to it. I have plenty in the freezer so just bought what I needed instead of what I just fancied!!
I've posted out 4 things I have sold on ebay over the weekend so it's all very positive. :D
Really want to carry this positivity into Christmas to go into the new year with less debt. I started doing the 1% challenge last month so I would love to squeeze another 1% before payday on Friday, bringing my total to 9% so I'm sure this thread will help. :A

  • Evening all

Not a NSD for me today as I had to pick up some milk on the way to work. I was very tempted to spend my last £3 on a coffee but I resisted and stuck to the drinks I had in my desk!

I chased our housing association as we overpaid our service charge by nearly £200 last year. I spoke to them weeks ago and they said our November rent would be lower in order to refund us but that never happened. I’ve been assured it’ll come off our December rent. We’re shared ownership so have both rent and mortgage payments. I’m sure they’d be chasing us if we owed them money!

I’m pretty much broke until pay day on Thursday so until then all meals will be from stores and I won’t be spending anything. We’re going to give Lidl a go for our next shop (nearer for us than Aldi). Hubby is going to batch cook something and we’ll meal plan for the next week. My shopping weakness is going off list and making impulse purchases so I must resist!

Banking and Pick My Postcode to check each day. O2 also have one of their instant winners promotions so I’ll be checking that.

I’ve written my December budget and printed my payslip off (I keep hard copies). I have a zero-based budget spreadsheet with categories such as food plus a handwritten spending diary where I write individual purchases down.

We’re trying to de-clutter in order to make room for baby. Hubby has already sold his desk and moved his computer into the airing cupboard :rotfl: I have a cupboard in our bedroom full of shoes, paperwork and stuff to keep long term like wedding bits and birth certificates. I could probably sell some shoes or donate them to charity. I recently bought some dubbin so I can bring my 10 year old Doc Martens back to life! I’ve also got a coat to sell. We’ll have to get some decent storage crates to box the rest up. We went through our books/ DVDs/ computer games over the summer so at least that has been done. I might tackle the joy of the cupboard at the weekend.

CLF you made me laugh about being excited about the purchase of a dehumidifier in your mid-30s. It’s like my husband asking for a pressure washer for Christmas :)

    Morning all :)
I will be running on coffee today, as I really wore myself out shifting boxes and other stuff while crawling about in the eaves cupboard yesterday. I need to make space in there for all the toys / sales stock etc that is in the spare bedroom in order to clear it for in laws visit next week. Consequently I didn't sleep at all well :(
    Anyway, today's list:
Sort out the boxes I bought downstairs. There is stuff to go in my sales unit later this week, a few things that I want to use, and lots of paper and packaging to put away for ebay stuff.
Pack an ebay parcel, and I need to take 3 to the post office. Print off Drop and Go form to avoid the queues!
The discounted case of wine that I ordered for Christmas / pre-Christmas guests should arrive today, so I must check emails to see if they give a time slot (they usually do)
I need to make the leek / lentil / ham thing, and the pheasant soup that I didn't get to yesterday, to use up fridge shrapnel.
I have started a shopping list, may go today if OH wants beer. If not, it can wait for another day - but I can progress the list!
I will see where I get to after all this!
