    Well, by the time I'd finished writing my post on here yesterday, it was properly dark and thoroughly miserable, so the cheque didn't get paid in. I'll do it today - just as soon as I've finished this coffee...

    I've spent the morning bottoming out the attic, as my lodger has moved on. He's left it in a pretty good state, I just like to be sure I've cleaned it myself so I know for sure it's OK!! It's back on Spare Room, but I doubt if I'll get anyone in before Christmas now - just as well my hours at work have been increased! It's amazing how an hour or two of good honest house work warms you up!! I'm sitting here on the sofa, thinking I could probably turn the heating down, as I'm quite warm - but it's not on at all!!!

    While I'm up at the bank, I need to buy a bag of sweeties for work. It seems to be a thing - there's always a bag of something in the drawer, and I haven't contributed yet (mostly because I don't really eat sweets, so it doesn't cross my mind to buy any when I'm at the shops!). And while I'm at it I'll drop some batteries off at the recycling point in the supermarket.

    Today is definitely a Doing Day - I'm ticking lots of things off of my list. I have a couple of emails and a phone call to make this afternoon, then I'll finish off the attic cleaning.

    And finally I've promised myself a great and glorious curry (made from scratch - so much cheaper to buy the individual spices than these 'curry kits' you can get) - it takes time to do it properly, but I've got all evening.

    Keep on keeping warm and dry!!
    xx

    Morning all!

    Hope everyone is well, as haven't caught up for a few days. Most exciting thing that's happened is that I organised my spice cupboard so I can actually see what herbs and spices I have!

    Today I have/will:
    * Check banks (balance transfer has gone through so I have now "cleared" a CC)
    * Wrap present from copious wrapping paper supplies that I dug out of the loft!
    * Take lunch to work
    * Park for free and walk to work despite the rain!
    * Update spreadsheet
    * Go to gym at lunch
    * Check OP/PA
    * Drop present off on my way home (have put in a ziplock bag in case I need to leave it somewhere)
    * Write meal plan
    * Write shopping list
    * Shop to list
    * Freeze chicken portions
    * Dinner from stores
    * Do some more crochet

    That's everything I can think of for now. Hope you all have a good day.

    Well I didn't get far with yesterdays list as I had a phone call that took on a life of its own and then it was bedtime!
    Welcome to Lynneee, its a great thread, I hope you stick with us.

    So todays list is similar to yesterdays
    :heartpuls gym done, refilled water bottle there and did two classes to get back to making the most of my membership :heartpuls
    :heartpuls all had porridge for breakfast - FINISHED the use up the tub of (very) out of date powdered milk :heartpuls
    :heartpuls wash a load on the quick 30 degree wash :heartpuls and hang on the heated airer :heartpuls
    :heartpuls check banking/update spreadsheet :heartpuls- make a note of new reduced duel fuel cost on my spreadsheet ready for 1/12 :heartpuls
    :heartpuls make families lunches for tomorrow :heartpuls
    :heartpuls tidy fridge/ fruit bowl - making sure nothing goes to waste :heartpuls
    - make leek and potato soup - using up a jug of chicken stock in it :heartpuls
    - make mushroom, chicken & pea risotto for me and dh tonight :heartpuls
    - make banana loaf or muffins as two dodgy looking bananas will do tomorrow instead
    :heartpuls rough meal plan needs doing - should be quite easy as my freezer inventory is up to date :heartpuls
    :heartpuls work out how to set the printer to work wirelessly from ds's computers :heartpuls
    :heartpuls write the last few family xmas cards so that my mum can send them with hers. :heartpuls
    :heartpuls changed blown light bulb in the downstairs loo, it took 3 different screwdrivers to remove the cover!!! :mad: but I thought we'd already changed all our bulbs to energy saving ones but this one wasn't (probably because I couldn't get the cover off in the past!!) so its now been replaced with a more energy efficient one. :heartpuls
    :heartpuls

    Right, coffee drunk.... so I better make a start!

    Hi all,
    Getting my head back into all these little money saving ways is addictive!
    We all took a packed lunch to school/work today and I have cooked off some sausage rolls from the freezer for everyone to take tomorrow. I've checked PMP and also I have some surveys to do so going to crack on with them when I've made a brew. I've got a couple of bits to list on ebay this evening that have been sat there for ages. Tea will be something from the freezer with the last of the veg from the garden. I also want to declutter 10 things to the bin. (starting with a small target should help me to actually achieve it!)
    I've got some old clothes to cut up into rags as I'm trying to be green (and money-saving!) and not use wipes or kitchen roll. I've managed for about 3 weeks now without buying any!
    NSD so far but need antihistamines so will have to pop out this evening.
    Have a lovely evening everyone!

    Hi All,
    In a terrible mood all day, shouty kids all day, no voice left and more to do lists from main job. Might be slightly better after Thursday.
    Will scrap club swim tonight and try to to do list.
    Happy w NSD day yesterday and happy w low spend today. Weekly shop went a bit wonky as ds claimed he had 5 friends coming over so spent £10 on sweets and pop, they never materialised so now have lots of sweets and no bread! Bought milk and a last date chicken, so good deal. Will bake bread later and eat some of chicken.
    Fingers crossed there'l be no more shopping until Friday - although gas is looking a bit low AArgh.
    Payday blues ... again.

    Morning all :)
    Today's list:
    Wash hair and leave to dry naturally Done, used my everlasting shampoo bar, clipped it back after towel drying to avoid stupid curls :eek: I don't 'do' blow drying or straightening etc :o
    Home grown fruit from freezer with breakfast Done, rhubarb today, nice with porridge and yogurt :)
    Check banks and update spreadsheet Done
    Respond to freecycle messages - I put several big items on there yesterday that I am fed up with moving around! 3 items have already gone, one is due to go shortly and another tomorrow evening :T And I have listed some more :j It is mainly sales stuff that hasn't sold, for years :eek: And I have had enough of hoicking it about to no avail, so it is going!
    I am expecting a delivery at some stage today, so need to stay within hearing distance of the front door during the time slot they will send shortly. Done
    Some cleaning Not much, as DD and GS appeared at lunch time and didn't leave till 3. OH was set to cleaning the toaster and kettle though, prior to his fussy relatives' visit. He quite enjoys fiddly cleaning like that - and I don't!
    Water houseplants Still to do
    Order myself a new diary and calender for 2020 online using vouchers from surveys Done, had fun choosing :)
    Ordered new wire scale preventer thingies for kettle from ebay, small spend
    Lunch will be some of the soup I made yesterday yes
    Dinner will be a round up of leftovers made fish cakes with leftover mashed potato, OH's favourite (as he had cleaned the kettle and toaster)
    There may be more - will update later :)
    This evening's freecycler didn't turn up :(

    Made scones and have a crumble in the oven to use up some rather sour apricots mixed with HG raspberries from the freezer.
    Kettle is boiling on the stove, so I have just made myself a coffee. OH has reluctantly gone out in the rain for his meeting :rotfl:

    * drop CV in to pub that is looking for waiting/bar staff
    * take zip out of coat for a customer
