So yourself and the post you quote advocate shutting down the MSE forums.
If you're in a shop and you don't like their displays, just leave. No need to demand the shop closes down. Or announce it.
Just watch that revolving door doesn't hit you in the behind on your way out.

Don't know how you shop but when I want fish, I go to a fish stall. I don't go to a fish stall and ask for meat, I expect them to stock fish. Maybe if fish doesn't suit you personally, you should stop going to a fish stall rather than expecting them to diversify. But I digress.
Where is MSE moaning that they only get desktop-using forum members? From the OP it says that they want to re-launch the forum because of technological difficulties, no mention there of wanting to attract new mobile-using members.
But I'm sure when you are selected to join their group of Forum members shaping the new layout, you will be able to put forward your opinion. You did volunteer, didn't you?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Indeed you do. and it does not negate me ripping up your defence of desktop use citing an internal survey results s totally absurd. Next 😁Tigsteroonie wrote: »...... Anyone that does not know that 95 % of internet traffic is by mobile or tablet is living under a rock, and should MSE Forums accommodate those it would have 10 times more traffic and throwing insults at them won't diminish their numbers, and I'm also quite sure that there are some MSE elitists that shudder at the very thought of anyone else using the forum other than themselves, with their laptops 😁

It's over categorised and should use inclusive filters not exclusive catagories which is the bane of the internet and explains just because you can doesn't mean you should. people who want to read shopping related news should not have to visit 19 different forums to get it, when a simple filter will include or exclude any categories they want
Your filters are anything but inclusive. :grouphug:
To avoid visiting nineteen boards, try the secret and new Advanced Search function or a search engine.ChrisK..... wrote: »And MSE doesn't accommodate tablets and mobiles which make up 95% of internet traffic, and if that's not reflected on MSE forums it's BECAUSE they're not accommodated. Posters should be able to SHARE articles including photo, headlines and link in one single click.
Nobody told my tablet. :rotfl:
MSE forums .... moneysaving, not moneygrabbing or moneyflashing.
By SHARE you mean CRASH. Exclude those who cannot afford a powerful gadget + a communication contract + a media contract, or those on a decade-old library desktop PC booked for an hour, stay four hours because it is heated.
MSE forums has a place for as many income levels, as many physical or mental attributes/ challenges, age groups, household sizes, not where you came from definitely where you are now.
We aren't PC because it is the done thing. We are equal opportunity who we fight like cats'n'dogs, who we screech with laughter at, who we get friendly with, where and how
(MSE for a few :kisses:).
Your 95% is more First World Problems. CRASH another forum, please.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
60 second wait time between posts - For years this parameter was set at 30 seconds and hopefully it can be returned to 30 (or even less).
Links to threads/posts in other posts. Please ensure that transferring to a new system maintains/updates all these links in whatever form they use.

Calm down and don't be so touchy or you won't last long on modern social media.0 -
MSE_Marcus wrote: »Dear MSE Forumites!
I’m Marcus and I’m the Editor-in-Chief at MoneySavingExpert.com.
I have some really important news to share with you and I hope you will all be as excited as we are here at MSE Towers.
MSE Forums began almost 17 years ago and has become one of the UK’s biggest communities. It’s a lively, active place to share everything from MoneySaving tips to the best slow-cooker recipes. We’re incredibly proud of what you, the Forumites, have built, and see it as an invaluable part of our wider mission to help consumers.
For our regulars though, you will have noticed over the past few years that the bit we do – the technology that supports our Forum - has been creaking at best, and completely broken at worst. We’ve reached the stage where our present platform is simply unsustainable – when it breaks, we’re not able to fix it.
We want your Forum to live for at least another 17 years.
So, we’ve made the big decision to significantly invest in a new platform which all of you will be moved across to. We aim to keep the best of the existing Forum, but tackle the frustrating bits that you tell us you don’t like.
To be clear, some things will change. But staying as we are is not an option, and the alternative would be closing the MSE Forums – which we have no intention of doing.
After many months of planning, research and an awful lot of meetings, we’ve found a new provider and work has started on the behind-the-scenes technology.
Your new platform will – hopefully – go live in early 2020. But in the meantime, we need your help! We’re looking for a top team of Forumites to help us with the finishing touches, especially the ‘look’ and ‘feel’ of our new Forum. If you’re interested in becoming a member (there may be a Badge!) of the Fab-Forumite Feature Testing Group, please let us know by registering your interest here
We realise some of you may feel apprehensive about all this. But closing the Forum simply wasn’t an option to Martin, myself or the rest of MSE. That means, despite the challenges, we’re hoping you will embrace the new Forum.
As always, we welcome your constructive feedback and keep your eyes peeled for regular updates from me and the Forum Team over the coming weeks.
Marcus Herbert
Editor-in-Chief, MoneySavingExpert.com
If you welcome feedback why have you shut down the ability to sign up to do so?
Seems a bit of a contraction, much like the word "upgrade".0
