Good evening!!!
Week going well so far at work and came home to a nice suprise from Tresco with £14.00 of clubacard vouchers amassed. That will be money off a shop later in the week.
Today = NSD number 14
Nearly there, and with only 2 days to go I should make the target!
Looking forward to a new month but have my all time favourite celebration of the year to come first - alas there is no pumpkin emoji! Drives me crazy  that Christmas stuff was in the shops early October... Madness! At least let us enjoy Halloween and Bonfire Night before rolling out the tinsel!!!
Anyway... Thanks Apple for doing November's thread... I'll head on over and sign up.⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

A slightly strange day. Went to get some of the things on mum's list and then realised I did not feel well. Got nearly home before it hit me - not going to go into gruesome details but was very glad that there was no-one around to see me (might have been on CCTV but they're used to weekend antics so old poorly sick women aren't a problem).
Back in the house, cleaned up and back into bed (properly rather than just on top of the bed resting). DS3 asked what was wrong as soon as he heard me come through the back door - he brought my bags up for me so I could phone mum.
DS2 came round a while later to see if his parcels had arrived and I asked him to get me something to drink. Felt a bit better mid-afternoon so risked venturing to the library with books and food bank donations (little and often). Charity bin was nearly empty so later took a full charity sack and took another pair of old glasses to the visionaid box at the opticians.
Went a little further into town (mum's list again - had checked out a couple of things on-line but she's asking for things at the wrong time of year). Wilco's had packed away the remaining garden stuff, an assistant was dismantling the shelves to take away and wash them before adding to the 'C' carp. However got some household items mum wanted and the scrubber on a stick DS3 was asking for (cleaning the bottom of more than pint glass - more like a glass stein).
Did a trawl of several charity shops buying 2 MnS bathmats for £4 (needed, one of ours is going threadbare), a teapot, tea caddy, hot drink mug with a lid and paperchains for 50p each. Also asked about the Chewbacca 'C' stockings but she thought they had all gone (one of the things I saw before the holiday which had disapppeared when I got back).
Saw a number of items which I've noted but not bought (was given two carrriers and bought a mid size bag for life) and also picked up dishwasher tablets from the Replenishery (zero waste store) on my way back). All made possible by many short rests.
I had bought a curry from the reduced shelf. I added a chopped up whole red pepper and some mushrooms from the fridge and a naan from the freezer (bought them ys several weeks ago - either 10p or 5p for a twin pack) to go with it. To be super healthy I wilted as much spinach as I could pack into a 'takeaway box' and ate all but a mouthful.
Have been waiting to see if it stays inside me and looking at tea bags for Beloved. Also watched the film adaptation of Robert Harris's 'Fatherland'. Haven't read the book and it was quite differnt from what I expected. It's supposed to be the most realistic extrapolation of what happens following Germany winning WWII (common plot line but often bungled).
Trying to make sense of all my lists.
Today I am grateful for being able to rest (mum doesn't want me to go when I have things she might catch), for purposeful pottering being productive and for finding easy to cook food.
DS1 was made redundant again yesterday so puppies and babies postponed once again (and any hopes he might remember he owes me money). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all:j
No NSD today but still on target with 15/15..
Felt a bit better when I woke up so did my cs stint, also quick trip to sm beforehand. Went pretty quickly although tons of stuff through the door as ever, I took a bag with a bit of bric a brac (our best seller) I found during my cupboard clearance.
Back home quick pieces of toast then a tidy up & then iced friends birthday cake for her visit. Couldn't find the walnuts (coffee & walnut cake) although I had used them to actually make the cake, but remembered I had put them 'somewhere' to stop me snacking on the ones that were left for decoration. Nope, couldn't find them at all. Luckily found pecans which worked OK.
She brought round her new puppy, who was very excitable but was very good.
Both meals from stores today..
Gratitudes: friends at work, visit from good friend & text later to say how much she liked her gift - and the cake, DD also.

NOT
by Erin Hanson
You are not your age,
Nor the size of clothes you wear,
You are not a weight,
Or the colour of your hair.
You are not your name,
Or the dimples in your cheeks,
You are all the books you read,
And all the words you speak.
You are your croaky morning voice,
And the smiles you try to hide,
You are the sweetness in your laughter,
And every tear you've cried
You're the songs you sing so loudly,
When you think you're all alone,
You're the places that you've been to,
And the one that you call home,
You're the things that you believe in
And the people that you love,
You're the photos in your bedroom
And the things that you dream of
You're made of so much beauty
But it seems that you forgot
When you decided that you were defined
By all thethings you're not
I CHOOSE
To live by CHOICE, not by CHANCE
To make CHANGES, not EXCUSES
To be MOTIVATED, not MANIPULATED
To be USEFUL, not USED
To EXCEL, not COMPETE
I choose SELF-ESTEEM, not SELF-PITY
I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinions of others.
ACCEPT
that you will never be perfect
that life will always have challenges
and other people willl disappoint you sometimes.
Acceptance is the first step towards Peace

Oh it's payday tomorrow!
But I have to get through today first... and it's not going brilliantly so far. Got up at 8am to wait for a broadband engineer who was coming between 8 and 1. Just got off the phone to find out that he's not coming to the house but actually needing to work outside, and that will be done between now and 6pm tomorrow. Apart from the fact that I cancelled plans to see bestie to wait for the engineer, ds is also really finding the intermittent broadband signal a real problem with his gaming, which is giving me a load of hassle in return.

Payday tomorrow for me too!
Cheese and potato pie for us tonight - because I have cheese and potatoes:rotfl:. ys pastry found in freezer.
I have stripped and remade 4 beds as the weather forecast for the 1st is not as good as the next two days. Executive decision made, I have lost half the kitchen floor to laundry. Also skipped out every single drawer and cupboard in all the kids bedrooms, all clothes put where they should be, and all rubbish, laundry, pots, and general broken tat removed. :T. I will not do it again until after the C-word. All cleaned and hoovered and tidy. Will change bedding again on 15th. Mountain of laundry created. Stairs and landings hoovered, bathrooms cleaned, floors mopped, living room tidied and hoovered, hall sorted and all general tat (my commanding officer) removed.
Then lunch and a cup of tea. Now I am knackered and have an hour before the school run commences again.
Had to buy a couple of cartons of soy milk and a loaf of bread this morning.
The laundry has given me a shiny £1 piece. I do not know who it belongs to, it might even have been me. I claim this pound for England and St George!! but mostly for me. Budget now stands at £1.78.
I think that counts as a workout - 4 and a half hours of cleaning and hoovering. At least it is now done. Just my bed to do tomorrow - could not face it after all the others -
Looking forward to checking out November's thread.
Last night I pinned dh to the bed (hold on!!) and put chest rub on the soles of his feet - he had just started coughing yesterday afternoon. He does not believe in my version of medicine:cool::cool:, but after whining and b*tching about it, he woke up this morning without a sign of a cough. He can take it as co-incidence all he likes. :rotfl:. I enjoyed it anyway.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

We have similar problems with our broadband. Who are you with? We are with Sky.
Have walked 6 miles on the beach today and we are all feeling very tired, it is hard work walking on sand, the sea air sent the dog a bit mad and he has completely worn himself out, he is now in his bed under a radiator in some sort of coma.
Had lunch out today, just a simple lunch but when there are four of you it really adds up - hey ho it is a holiday. No other money spent though, plans for the evening are a quick bite to eat in our cottage then a glass of wine whist watching The Apprentice.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Today I am grateful for surviving 1kea, for finding the very last pair of curtains that dd liked, for an assistant showing us where they had hidden the nets we wanted (the only cotton ones) among the normal curtains, for finding a warm tog feather and down duvet for dd, for discovering that I had washed the hallway door curtains before storing them in the summer so they were all ready to simply hang up, for dd persevering with a certain piece of hwk, for enough sunshine for dd to play out in the garden and take photos, for splatting a number of frogs as regards the house.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
