Thanks trailigspouse for your review, I will add that to our day trips from ideas list. My children are 10 & 14, sometimes when we visit historic properties either one or both just want to get out of the place other occasions we have been known to bribe them with ice cream or hot chocolate :rotfl: Usually when we go for a day out we take a packed lunch and possibly treat ourselves to cake/scones/ice cream and a drink. The break down of your costs for the day will allow me to set a realistic budget.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Think I've got L***** trip tomorrow sorted
Train £32 (w train card) - £30.05
Museum exhibitions £10 (vaguely job related for me) £5 squeezed the discounts
2 other optional exhibitions/museums free - went to one on the way back great stuff, and lots of beed work - nice and inspiring.
Parking £3 - £2.80
Lunch 15-30 (meal deals or cheapish take out lunch w water) - £26.70 inc service charge
So that should make a day trip for 3 people for £70 while this is an outrageous amount this is the closest we will get to a holiday together this summer, so - so be it.:o:o

Cheapy roast as have 3 pots of leftover meat from previous ones out of freezer to do between us for meat
Try and hunt a cauliflower down, they're a bit like rocky horse poo at the moment if not, we won't starve with what we have :rotfl:
Long run
Cheapo porridge to fuel ^^
Long hot bath after and listen to the radio
Prep for tomorrow, lunch boxes, school bags etc...
List a few things for sale. Hoping if it out this on often enough it will happen by osmosis :rotfl:
Start a new freezer inventory as project use up freezer contents commences before stew season
Got some homemade pesto and stewed pears out of freezer as a start of ^^

A day off today, and the weather looks like it's going to be good. Sunny and dry.
- I have some work to do for the business, which will take maybe 30 minutes to an hour. Will do that first. Done - took less than an hour, and deadline is tomorrow, so all good.
- I have some training to read through for work. Will do that this evening (it doesn't need daylight!!)
- writing for the blog
- I got the grass cut a couple of days ago, but today I want to trim the edges and generally start the autumn tidy up. Will do that this morning. Edges sorted, compost turned, weeding done, back knackered. Haven't quite finished, but decided to call it quits before the back gives out completely.
- I want to go for a walk. Will do that this afternoon. Might still happen.
- cook a chicken (Rubber Chicken Day One...)
A nice easy day - but if any of it's going to happen, I really need to get out of bed...
Enjoy the pleasant weather. xxNo longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Morning all
Well I went out yesterday, but bestie cancelled the coffee last minute (gutted but she'd forgotten an appointment she'd made). I was out less than an hour and ordered cat litter (which hasn't been delivered for some reason so I'd better chase them up Monday), picked up a couple of parcels from the sorting office, and got some veggies and reduced meat from L1dl before heading home to feel sorry for myself.
Today's plans are fairly non existent and I'm actually hoping for a pyjama day
I'm going to watch the GNR on telly as a couple of my work colleagues are running
Inventory my cupboards in preparation for home made Christmas and write a list of things that I still need to buy for chutneys and booze (it is mostly done - I just need to check what I already have in)
Carry on with knitting my first ever sock!
And when I get fed up with that crochet some more baby blanket
2 hours maximum of work
Wash the school shirts
Attempt a meal plan for next week while I'm surfing the cupboards to accompany my leftovers in the freezer.
Nap if I need toNot giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

All right, had a lovely day yesterday, now have to live on close to 0 per week for the month. I was selling something on FB I'm not good w forms and I had listed object for £45 w free postage - not noticing that I had included the whole world. Now woman from old country have found this for her cheap designer item and wants it for £38 and w free postage. I think thats a bit rude, so I didn't really reply to offer.
It has now run out and I have re-listed object w pay your own postage and lowered price to £40.
I have offered her in an email to send her an offer for the £original 45 and I pay for the postage - are you confused ... probably so is she, I hope she doesn't give me a !!!! review. Postage to old country costs £12-15, a bit too high to be worth it for anybody!
Have I just over estimated my item? Similar ones go for between £26 and 90 I think depending on issue and designer (over time). Its basically a hand blown designer decanter.
Anyways made a 2-3 day chilli, topped up fridge w a bit of milk, topped car with cheaper diesel in other town driving my uni son in the right direction for train, made muffins yesterday for train and for lunches tomorrow, went for a walk w friends who has health issues and is waiting for results, am helping ds w homework for his new a levels, nice to be able to discuss and for him to get on with it, never applied for anything job wise, am hoping Tuesday will be quiet (If I don't get cover work).
Bailey - you are so good for bringing lunches on days out - we often do - and I did make muffins for the train, but I think yesterday frankly the pizzas were an important part of the day out, any ways see y'all next week.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Evening all
Just catching up before bath and bed (up early after not sleeping well again). Today's small things:
Car booting first thing (brrr, it was cold! Mostly business bits bought, just a dog biscuits tin to replace the disintegrating plastic ice cream tub I currently use, and a few new killner jars, which I will use for the raspberry jam I intend to make next week. Incidentally Foxgloves / anyone, have you ever made jam from yellow raspberries? We have had loads of yellow ones this year, and hardly any red for some reason. They taste pretty much the same, so I am sure the jam will be nice, but might look odd being yellow instead of red  I don't really want to buy /use artificial colouring.
Used up various bread crusts as toast (with baked beans) for lunch
Business paperwork done
Got rid of 2 bush tomato plants - always a bit sad when they come to the endObviously I picked off the few tomatoes left on them - hardly any hadn't ripened this year! I put them in the bin instead of the compost, to avoid nasty spores carrying over to next year  There are 2 more plus a couple of cordon ones out there still.
Picked some yellow tomatoes from the cordon plants, and the first baby carrots for dinner
Made scones, and a Chinese pork thing to use up fridge bits and some YS pork steaks. It is a bit hot (my habanero chillis are jolly hot this year, I only used 1 little one ) so will need to add yogurt I think! Will have this tomorrow probably.
Brother came for dinner, and brought a bag of stuff from the staff shop at his work (he works for a food firm that supplies fresh items for a posh supermarket). The staff shop is very cheap, and sometimes they give it away to whoever is working if it is getting close to its date at weekends. I should be more grateful for this than I am, as some of it is a bit ready-mealy and samey, despite the posh brand, and I am used to cooking from scratch. It isn't the kind of thing I would ever buy tbh. I will pass some of it to DD. It won't get wasted!
Had turkey, ham and mushroom pie from the freezer for dinner, with HG baby carrots and runner beans
Cleared up debris after cooking / dinner, and I have just labelled up some items to take to my sales unit in the morning.
Good night all, see you next 'week'0
