Hi Everybody I hope your'e getting ready for the weekend.
    I think I've got tomorrow's L***** trip tomorrow sorted
    Train £32 (w train card)
Museum exhibitions £10 (vaguely job related for me)
    2 other optional exhibitions/museums free
    Parking £3
Lunch 15-30 (meal deals or cheapish take out lunch w water)
So that should make a day trip for 3 people for £70 while this is an outrageous amount this is the closest we will get to a holiday together this summer, so - so be it.
When considering that most museum exhibitions are now £16-18 in National museums (outrageous) I think we are opting for a good deal. Also all exhibitions/museums are quite small - I like that so it will not completely dominate the day - we will just wander about from the train station - and hopefully catch all 3.
DS w broken arm is still a bit extra tired, so we won't go all out on the cross town hiking.
This morning was a leisurely 10k run from the house combining all of my favourite parks in town!

    Evening all :)
Not much to boast about again today:
Brown banana and HG raspberries with breakfast
New vacuum cleaner arrived, OH and my brother quickly got it out and set it up - wrongly :rotfl:The instructions were rubbish, but I found a Youtube video which was much more helpful, so once OH and bro were out of the way, I sorted it out myself and tried it out, which involved vacuuming through downstairs, so at least that got done!!
Shopping delivery arrived, all put away, and all spends duly noted in the appropriate places
    Sold 2 items on ebay
RM surveys stuff, have just started again on the main survey
Claimed a £5 Amazon voucher for taking part in the correctly delivered survey :)
Couple of Ipsos surveys, and took up an offer of another that involves keeping a spending diary for a month. The reward of £15 is hardly generous for a long commitment, but I keep a spending diary anyway, and I will simply need to enter the information I already record in another format, so a bit of a no brainer really :)
Made a batch of tomato and chilli sauce, to use up a colanderful of slightly over ripe tomatoes
Put away a load of clean laundry that didn't need ironing :T
Still haven't done the bits that do need ironing though :o
  • Morning purps :D hope the long day on a Friday doesn't feel tortuous!

I don't have big plans for the day. I may go out with a friend this evening but am in two minds as it could be great or it could not...

    Today:

    * make loaf of bread
    * [STRIKE]cut [/STRIKE]and dye my hair looks great :D didn't have the energy/enthusiasm for dying it today
    * go for a run went to the allotment instead. Did 30 mins digging :D
    [STRIKE]* TOMM[/STRIKE]
    * sewing 50% took in a pair of linen trousers. I might do the other half later. Another thing out of my bought-to-alter pile :D
[STRIKE]* check meal plan and get anything out of freezer that's needed[/STRIKE]
    * take some photos of things to sell - I really want to do this today!
[STRIKE]* collect pup [/STRIKE]and take him to the dog park for a quick run
    [STRIKE]* call the union[/STRIKE]
    * contact Amazon about items that haven't arrived

    Ok that's enough

feeling pleased with my efforts today, I felt the best I have in a week. Semi made a decision to not make a decision about work until I'm better and going to ask my gp for a further sickness certificate until I can see a consultant. I think in reality is this is just buying me a bit of time as I need to leave my job but not in the frame of mind to work out what my next steps are at the moment.

Feeling more at peace than I have for a while

    Morning

Did the Tesco order for our holiday yesterday. Too early to book the slot yet but that's it done. Will go through it before placing the order in case there are any offers.

Saturday so a bit of a quiet day. Plans are

    Check banking
    Tend to plants
    Take medication
    Charge tablet and phone
Chicken wings out of freezer for lunch
Prawns from freezer, pineapple and some other bits from cupboard and see how dinner turns out.
    Quick tidy and dust
Walk to the supermarket which does the cheapest butter and stock up.

Finish coffee, get Himself away from watching The Simpsons and on we go.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Morning all  :coffee:
Well I have at least survived the first week at school so I'm pleased about that, but I've woken up feeling awful this morning. Probably just getting back into my routine but I was awake a few times during the night with awful stomach pains and I still feel rotten this morning. At least it's Saturday and I can rest and nap if I need to.
It won't be a nsd because I've planned to meet up with bestie for a posh coffee as we haven't done that for months. Although I suspect I will only manage a cup of tea if I'm honest. Also need some fresh veggies from L1dl and to order some more cat litter as well.
Other than that I need to pick up a couple of parcels from the post office, catch up with washing, do some reading (work related) and rest as much as I can.
DNMS - pleased to hear that you're feeling a bit clearer about the way forward.
1LL - hope you've managed some good rest and a decent sleep.

    Morning Campers!
Am no longer a camper. Am home & catching up on jobs. Managed to wash & dry holiday laundry & deal with windfall apples yesterday. Today will be a mixture of jobs & leisure as we have tickets to an event later, but it doesn't start till 10pm.
*Vacuum downstairs & wave a few cleaning cloths around.
    *Finish knitting sock.
*Turn 2 kilos of our rope homegrown tomatoes into chutney.
*Aim to do my 7000 daily step goal as have re-gained 5lbs & ridiculous as it sounds, I'm so aware of them in my closer fitting clothes, so am taking myself in hand this autumn & looking forward to it.
*Contact sis to discuss latest missive from solicitor.
*A few garden jobs. All good exercise.
And last but not least..... Collect cat. Remembered to budget cattery fees which is an improvement on last time.
