    Hi all,
Dawn, I hope you are feeling better soon.
Foxgloves, i hope you have better weather then we currently have!
Clf, glad to hear you're doing better
CCL, those school holidays have flown by!
    to everyone

Ds1 back to school and ds2 has joined him there this year so both kids back in one school which makes things easier! I had another rubbish nights sleep though so just going to potter around and get done what I can! I'm setting a timer for 5mins tidying/cleaning/clearing and then a 5 min rest as I'm so tired. Its surprised me what a difference each of these 5mins have made to the house so far.

    Todays list
    * both kids going on the free school bus (no chance of them popping into the shop for a few sweets each morning so good for their pocket money and their teeth!)
    * rm survey item posted and amzn return sent
    * two gym classes and refilled my water bottle there
    * taken chickpeas out of the freezer as per meal plan
    * frozen two salmon sides I bought ys'd on Sunday - chopped them into individual portions and bagged them ready to pull out out of the freezer. Got 11 decent size pieces
    *

    Still to do
    * check banking/update spreadsheet
    * prep next weeks rm stuff :D
    * post another rm this afternoon :D
    * make curry for tonight
    * iron dh's work shirts and put the rest of the washing away :D

    still writing....

  • Hope everyone who was feeling bleugh yesterday is feeling a bit better today. And hope all the newbies enjoyed their first day back at school!!

    Today I have -

    - given in and put the bedding into the tumble dryer to finish it off. It had been sat around for long enough!! I put it on the line initially a couple of days ago, but it was so windy the whole thing was in danger of taking off and flying across the road!! Brought it in and put it on a clothes horse in front of an open window, but still damp in parts this morning. Enough is enough!
    - hoovered, dusted and mopped as appropriate
    - remembered to take some mince out of the freezer so it will be defrosted for tea tonight
    - sent my Level 1 emails to the non-payers - and received an email back from one of them promising to chase. Like I said, it's a game we play...
    - had salad for lunch (ham that was past its use by date but still smelt fine, coleslaw, tomatoes, cucumber and the remaining half of the avocado that I had yesterday)
    - made a start on the training I need to do for my new job. Got a couple of hours under my belt, lots of questions to ask when I'm in tomorrow - and lots more still to do.

    - met my friend for coffee. £2.50 return on the train, and just over £6 for two coffees and a large chocolate brownie. Haven't done that for ages, so it felt like a proper treat. And great to be able to just chat without interruptions.
    - will make savoury mince for tea tonight, as the season seems to have turned. Mince, onions, mushrooms, peas, served with mashed potato. My rhubarb seems to still be growing - not sure when you're supposed to stop harvesting it!! Will pick some and see what it's like - can always add more sugar if it's a bit tart! That'll be pudding if it's worth eating.
    - might manage a walk this evening - want to make the most of the light evenings while we still have them.
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

    Evening all :)

Trailing, your rhubarb should be fine, I am still picking mine, as if I didn't, it would turn into a jungle  I will stop once it stops growing so rampantly.
Not much sleep again due to coughing, and I had to mind little GS this morning while his mum went to the dentist's. so not a great deal done:
HG raspberries and blueberries with breakfast
Cleaned kitchen up a bit, including the top of my massive old range cooker
    Sorted out fridge

Packed and posted an ebay parcel
    Smallish shop
Popped into the shop where my sales unit is situated, tidied up a bit and collected takings for August :T Must take in a few new bits tomorrow.
Lunch was bits from the fridge
Dinner was the quiche I made last night, with salad and potatoes
Still need to pick the raspberries before it gets dark!
  • Quick check in.
Another busy day for me at work, getting ready for the kids coming back tomorrow...
NSD as I'm too busy to spend any money.
    Printed off essentials at work
Meals from stores (dd made sandwiches and chips for us)
    Minimal housework
    Changed cat trays...
Early night to keep getting my sleep pattern under control

Well NSD except there was a huha at the dads so boys ended up eating dinner at mine so had to get some taters 'n kale for veggie burgers w chips & kale, tastes better than it sounds. I mix beet root and red onion in with the wedges (home cut), made the kale on the pan w oil and parmesan and all pretty much disappeared.
Anyways some how I also had to prep pasta salad for tomorrow, so finished everything after 9.
Am trying to sell collectors decanter on ebay - fingers crossed.
    Happy Tuesday.
    PS

Weird my Rhubarb is always dying, quite sad really.

Morning all, another rubbish nights sleep and I know I'll struggle later. I thought I'd sleep better after kids getting back to school etc and I went to bed at 10 but have been awake since about 1.30 :( Tried using the headspace app which has helped in the past but eventually gave in and got up just after 3am.
Luckily I have a planned monthly meet up with a good friend later this morning which we often say acts as therapy.

    Todays list
    * scan a copy of ds2s hospital appointment for his to take into school (will use reclaimed rm survey papers for this)
    * make a chicken and chickpea curry, should have made it yesterday but made fajietas instead which is one of the kids favourite meals
    * check banking/update spreadsheet and download an online statement for an account I've just closed
    * two classes at the gym again - definitely getting value for my £16/month!
    * meet up with friend for :coffee: I have enough loyalty stamps for a free one this time.
    * set an alarm to remind me to text ds2 on his morning break to check he's got an answer that makes sense and if not ring the school (this is probably why I've not slept tonight) Last night it was gone 7pm when this query came up)
    * make families lunches for tomorrow - inc taking sausage rolls & mini banana muffins out of the freezer
    * go to aldee with my list
    * rm surveys
    * continue the 5 mins on/off thing I was doing yesterday as I did seem to get more done then I'd expected being so tired.

Just surviving the day is the only other plan!

    Take care all.
