Morning purps
hope the long day on a Friday doesn't feel tortuous!
I don't have big plans for the day. I may go out with a friend this evening but am in two minds as it could be great or it could not...
Today:
* make loaf of bread
* cut and dye my hair
* go for a run
* TOMM
* sewing
* check meal plan and get anything out of freezer that's needed
* take some photos of things to sell - I really want to do this today!
* collect pup and take him to the dog park for a quick run
* call the union
* contact Amazon about items that haven't arrived
Ok that's enoughDF as at 30/12/16

Really cross with myself today.
I have a day off, and decided I would go Out. For the first time in a long time. I want to visit Harewood House, which isn't very far from here but I've never been. You have to pay to get in, but it's cheaper if you buy online ahead of time - so I did. Tickets are sent to your email address - which is all fine and dandy. Except I gave them the wrong email address.
My old personal email address was a hotmail one. All my work email addresses are hotmail ones. My new personal one is gmail - but I put hotmail by accident. And didn't realise until it was too late. So obviously, no ticket.
I need to ring them to see if I can rescue the situation - I'm guessing there should be some proof somewhere that I've paid. The House opens at 10, but I'm hoping they start answering the phone at 9, so if I can get it sorted I can still be there for 10 and get a full day out of it.
Updated to add - I couldn't get through on the phone, so I emailed them, and they resent the ticket within 20 minutes! And with a lovely personal email attached. Couldn't have asked for better or quicker service, particularly as it was all entirely my fault in the first place. So, I'm off to print it, then I'm off to Harewood House!! Will tell you all about it when I get back.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -

Good luck trailingspouse and I hope you have a great day out, please can you post a review, we don't live to far away either, but we have never been.
I'm not sure of the big picture today so I will make a list of the little things and hope I can fit them round whatever we decide to do.
Todays list:

Make bread Done
Make cake Done
Make porridge Done

Dry washing on the airer, I will also put the dehumidifier on as currently we don't have any heating on, otherwise the washing will never dry
Dd's room has got out of hand (again), I need to find time and a way to help her reclaim it. I've already thought of some rules that should stop this happening in the future, well a girl can dream. Work in progress, I've explained the rules going forward which she has happily agreed to
Hopefully I will manage to complete the last few items on my list this eveningFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family0 -

At the risk of sounding like I'm on commission :rotfl: check out the clutter buster method on The Organised Mum Method and do it with her. I found it really helped and I generally have a problem with being able to tidy when things get messy
In essence you mentally divide the room into 1/4s, start in the left hand corner make 3 piles/bags 1. to keep, 1 to donate & 1 to dispose of. You don't move on until the 1st 1/4 is done. Then move round clockwise until complete.
Since doing it I now just quickly tidy up as I'm making her bed in the morning and get her to do a 10 min tidy up in the evening. 4 weeks in and it has made such a difference!DF as at 30/12/16

Afternoon all,
Another rubbish nights sleep, awake from 3am til at least 5:30 then I've fallen back asleep and missed the alarm clock at 7am! Woke at 7:15 which was then a mad rush to get boys up, sorted and out to school!! Need to set an alarm on my phone as well as watch like I had last school year.
So on to today...
* all had omelettes for breakfast/brunch - all ate at different times but a great thing to have ready for mornings like today!
* two gym classes done again. (I'm looking forward to a weekend off classes now though!)
* dh working from home so no fuel costs there and he'll eat leftovers rather then needed packed lunch food.
To do
** check banking/update cashbook
** open new regular saver
** rm surveys
** clean kitchen using stardrops and washable cloths
** we are having a filmfest today/tomorrow, watching Avengers Infinity war today and then End Game tomorrow. We bought the dvds with birthday money.
** Treat food night - kids have chosen pizze (ready in the freezer) dh is thinking curry
** if I get a reply to a dm soon I'll pop out to the post office and post a parcel, will help me to declutter too. If not I'll go tomorrow or Monday.
Right need to crack on! Take care all.
Trailing, glad to see you got your ticket sorted!Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Just got home after a lovely day out at Harewood House.
It's cheaper to buy tickets online, so that's what I did. And once I'd sorted out the pig's ear that I made of it, things got better.
The grounds open at 10 and the House at 11 - I got there at 11:15, and went straight into the House, and by the time I'd been round, the weather had improved enormously and I had a lovely walk in the grounds.
Baileys Babe - how old are your kids? They might find the House a little tedious, but there's loads for them outside (adventure playground, ice cream kiosk, bird garden, ferry across to another part of the site, penguin feeding, and lots of room for just running around and being a giddy kipper).
It wasn't a cheap day out - £13.50 for one adult, plus petrol, then I had lunch (sandwich + drink £8). And then I decided I might as well be hung for a sheep as for a lamb, and had a scone with jam and cream mid-afternoon (£5). I could have taken sandwiches and not bothered with the afternoon cuppa and scone. The whole day probably cost me £30.
But it's the first day out I've had in about 3 months, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So I'm not going to feel guilty about it.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
