Spent between two and a half and three hours in the garden clearing up, good clean up of the bathroom, washing out to dry and a new load started.
Mr and Mrs builder came and fixed the bath and also got the sink flowing smoothly - it has been slow to drain. Downstairs could do with some attention but only found out when I went to fetch the plunger and all the magic unblocker liquid had gone by then. I can now use all the stuff i bought on the kitchen sink. Cost £25 to sort the bath and sink - I must stop being afraid of calling them to fix things. Was lucky to catch them as they are away on holiday on Monday, for a month - Mr Builder is taking the doctors advice and having a rest.
Had a sit on a stool shower and washed my hair then watched a film and worked on one of the samplers and a few lavender bags, food from the freezer and cupboards.
Very tired, may be an early night. Today I am grateful for Mr and Mrs Builder, for having done a lot of things from my list (although the bed didn't stay clear for very long as i unpacked the bag of sewing stuff - I am trying to completely finish lavender bags which means more mess than doing one stage at a time on several bags), for DS3 going to get the mop to clear the spill from the kitchen sink.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all:j
An NSD today as I was home all day & ignored the siren call of the internet so now 9/15..
Glad to hear people who were unwell are feeling better, bright & sunny days help.
Our trees are changing colour so it's looking a bit more like autumn now. DD took some flowers from the garden to brighten up her place, now all her friends want some apparently.
Out & picked a few apples & a couple more pounds of blackberries. Chutney made & bottled; & blackberries draining overnight to make more Christmas bramble jelly tomorrow. And will pick some more plus some elderberries to make jelly, such a lot this year. Simple pleasures.
Got out some Christmas knitting too but not started yet. Out with the beasts & some gardening done.
Food from stores & no DD here so simple supper. Plans to go out next week.

Morning all, haven't checked in for a couple of days. No further NSDs to report but mostly planned. Took OH to buy his new van on Friday, wasn't planning on spending but we had to wait ages for the van to be ready so we went and bought lunch. No other spends on Friday and I did manage to get to the gym in the morning so that was good. Yesterday I went to a bottomless brunch with friends to celebrate finishing my Masters. As someone who doesn't really drink I have to admit I was a complete mess
spent far too much money and also bought pizza when we got home. Luckily I budgeted for it but I still can't help but feel guilty for spending money! Surprisingly I have no hint of a hangover so am going to go horse riding in a minute while the weather is still okay-ish. Back to work tomorrow after a week off so should have a busy few days ahead.

NSD 13 today. I am not venturing further than the washing line. I lay in bed this morning listening to the rain hammering down like crazy and thinking 'ha ha! dh is doing parkrun this morning' which he did, and it stopped raining for that hour, so I did not feel to badly for him.
All the laundry has been folded and returned to wearer - well, it is folded and put in 'person piles' on the dining table, if they want to eat, they are going to have to take them first.
I found 'marmalade' candles in tins in the c/s around this time last year, they were expensive (well, to me they were) at £2.00 but they last absolutely yonks and smell fantastic (rrp £6 - £10). Mind you, I still have the big S&M 'free loyalty bribe' candle from last November, french vanilla in a glass jar, that will be set fire to after my frankincense one is done. Hopefully they will give me another one this year.
DH removed and washed out a radiator yesterday, and then replaced it!! Hopefully it will have solved the problem and we will finally be toasty in the front room. Will find out when the heating goes on next month (maybe).
The fluffy throws are washed and back on the ends of the sofas, the draught excluders have been put behind all the doors, for when it is cold and we have to close doors again. I need to buy a few more packs of rechargeable batteries for all the fairy lights - they have made a massive saving - no more kids running around because various handsets have run out, they police themselves and tell each other off if they do not charge them properly after use. Would recommend 100%. The initial outlay is worth every penny.
Going to make Mary Berry ginger biscuits this afternoon and try and finish the last box of tat in the kitchen. The mop has been warned it is being deployed after lunch.
Commiserations to those feeling poorly, I had a terrible head cold for two hours yesterday, but after an 'exceptionally strong, testosterone fuelled, hairy man strength, lemon flavoured paracetamol based hot drink' it got bored and went away. I hope you recover just as quickly. While it lasted it was horrible. I could do without that right now.
Hugs to those who need them, virtual boxes of tissues to those who are unwell, it is the Autumnal Equinox today, the nights will begin to draw in nicely and the darkness is coming. So start to prepare your nests, sometimes hibernation can be fun.
LCC - if you were celebrating passing your masters and did not wake up in a broom cupboard in your supervisor's office, clutching half a bottle of whisky, and not being able to remember your own name, it is a win! Congratulations!

Managed to finally get an hour and a coffee with bestie and feeling much, much better for it. Had an hour of walking on the beach with ds, which was lovely and then made the error of trying to contact my ex to see if I could get him to give me an address. He has ignored every message I have sent to him but last night decided he would reply and went in with both barrels. The only thing he didn't have a go at was my parenting skills, but he had a go at my looks, my weight, my personality, my family and told me that my own mother didn't even like me. I don't think I will try again with him, but I had to give it a go because I am desperate to get the legals sorted out. We're due in court again on 22nd of October and I'm no closer to finding him at all.
Anyway, I've had a tired day today - started my tutoring, and took the kids out for lunch. All I can say really is must. try. harder. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hugs ccl.
We also had a downpour this morning so was very glad i decided to to the garden yesterday. Went out when it stopped to pick up some stuff i had cut/ pulled yesterday - I told myself 3 times that it was time to stop for a sit down and then did a bit more so when i finally gave up it was hold onto things and get myself back in the house.
New young and daft neighbour had dumped rubbish in two of my bins. Put some of the cans in my brown bin (used as ashtrays so disgusting) but threw the rest of the bags back into his yard - one was in the green bin and I need all the green bin space i can get.
DS3 had emptied the dishwasher so reloaded and set that going and also the washer (only cleaning rags really so no rush to get them dry).
Decided the kitchen sink and cupboard was the worst thing I had to do so tackled that (sprayed it, threw some cleaning rags in and used a brush to move them round at the back of the cupboard. Due to various leaks over the years, the cleaned up cupboard is looking sorry for itself (kitchen is 15 years old now, was planning on replacing it next year but think i will hold off as long as possible).
Went through my lists and ticked off a few things that have been done in the past week. Couldn't get enthused about sewing (my eyes are sore). Made lovely prawn coleslaw. Lunch from the freezer. Spent some time filling in bits for next month's challenge.
Today I am grateful for finding easy ways to do things, for my washing machine and dishwasher and for the rain (it sort of gave me permission to slack off a bit and I think i need a recovery day for my body). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all:j
No shopping today so another NSD to add to the tally - now 10/15 double figures:j
Sorry to hear you're still having problems with ex ccl - glad you got an hour with bestie after all.
Taking a new approach to the clearing - rain most of the day so did inside jobs. Started on the main bedroom & have removed 2 massive bags of books from the little cupboard (mine). Kept about 6 books, but the rest will be going with me to the CS on Tuesday. Am on a mission now so will see what this new regime does, it must succeed.
Will probably be going out tomorrow but not till the afternoon so can still get some things done before we go (after lunch).
All food from stores & DD came round to eat. Then went to her own home, hopefully not back here till Wednesday or so..

Evening all (well, night probably) can't sleep so thought I would catch up on here. I haven't posted for a few days as we have been away in our camper van, and then had all the inevitable washing and putting away to do. Not much spending took place and I am up to 10 / 15 NSDs. Sadly this week will be spendy though
Our awning got damaged while we were away, so I will have to arrange for it to be mended. My laptop is in the blink and is being fixed tomorrow, I need to replace the flat sheets for our bed as they are now thin and starting to go into holes, and they aren't cheap. I have a charity event to attend in Friday which I will need to donate to, we have tickets to another event at the weekend, and to cap it all I need to go food shopping tomorrow
Anyway, some of these purchases at least are planned for, savings will cover the rest and no debt will be incurred, so that is my main gratitude! I am also grateful for a nice couple of days away and being able to get 4 loads of washing set outside before the rain came!0
