Ha ha! Today was NSD12, I spent nothing, except the whole day lying on the sofa, battling nausea.

Ug, sorry to hear there's so much illness and lurgification around. I'm dealing with my stitches that I had on Monday, but at least they're protected with micropore this time, not sticking plaster (I'm allergic to sticking plaster - itching is a nightmare, but doesn't trap me like nausea or bad colds).

    Hi all:j

Still only on NSD 8/15 as instead of posting on here last night I decided I better order some things for DHs birthday online as it is fast approaching & I have bought nowt. Oh I tell a lie, I have a 50p book I got from the CS but I don't think that will cut it somehow.

Plus also DH went to get a takeaway - not my choice but it has done 5 meals so was not too expensive.

Today was looking like an NSD but then I needed butter to finish making cakes for my CS to sell tomorrow. Took in 2 cakes for them & they seemed very pleased, hope they can raise some much needed funds.

Was a struggle as another poor sleep, shame because I had been doing well.

Hope to have some time to myself tomorrow to get some more preserves done before it's too late.

Sorry to hear some turtles are poorly, get well soon.

Popping in to say hi: Hello Turtles!

Bounced back remarkably quickly. So will spend money today instead. Sticking to NSD12 and getting the laundry line dried today as it looks yuck for the rest of next week due to ex-hurricane Humberto's antics.

The leaves are falling off the trees as I am driving the kids about the place. Autumn is in the air.
Cupboard inventory done, menus planned and shopping list made. Off to do the shop so that I am finished by 10.00 and I can relax a bit more.

  • I have started switching on the string of coloured fairy lights (left up from 2 cmases ago, I think) as it is now gloomy enough for it. It really cheers the room up. Autumn is indeed arriving.

  • Morning :coffee::wave:
I genuinely cannot believe that I'm only 3 weeks into term and I am this exhausted. Between open evening at my place, open evenings at other schools (ds in Year 6), Ofsted and start of term lurgies I am just about broken. I feel as though I haven't stopped since I got back to work and I am very, very tired. I've just been too busy to get online at all since Monday in between prepping for Ofsted, visiting other schools and teaching full days and lessons.
As I say, very tired and very busy so not much else to report. Racked up a few more nsd's as I've been too busy to spend. Also managed a few free feeds at work with the Head ordering food in for staff who wanted to stay at work to prepare stuff. I was seen by the inspector and my head of department during the second lesson of the first day they were in. It went well though - I was lucky that I had a great class in front of me at the time.
This weekend I had been hoping to catch up with bestie but it looks as though she's busy again. People are telling me not to take it personally but it is now starting to feel like that she's avoiding me... it may say more about my current state of mind rather than the truth but it feels personal. I have a lot of friends but I don't see a lot of people outside of work and I get very lonely sometimes. No matter - I have some school work to catch up on and tutoring starts tomorrow.

I have had the candles going in the evening Apple, for the last couple of nights. I love it! But I am very low on the candle front now, I plan to bleed the radiators today so that when I decide to put the heating back on timer (not until October), it will be a job already done. Will check hot water bottles this evening too, it is never good to find out one has sprung a leak in a small person's bed in the middle of the night. Prepping for winter! Going to google for soups this afternoon to try and use up some weird bits from the pantry that seem to have been there forever. I still have half a jar of black-eyed beans to make disappear.
So I need to cruise the c/s for candles and Alex Rider books as DS3 has just announced he is a fan.

CCL - does DS fancy a play day with bestie's son? She may be having a hard time and not want to dump it all on you. Try not to take it personally.

  • Hope everyone is feeling better.

Should have been a NSD but we were nearly out of Himself's favourite ice cream and God forbid that should happen. So NSD ruined.

A lovely day today so the bedding has been changed and the washing done and dried outside on the line. It will save me doing it on Monday.

Other than that nothing much happening here.

f0xh0les - glad you have bounced back quickly.

ccl - have you looked at your nutrition re your energy levels, I find it makes a massive difference to mine.

apple/f0xh0les - I've had my candle lit in the evenings too, I am hanging on a bit with the fairy lights I have on my mantel piece though, when it gets dark earlier they will be going on. I am really fussy with candles but recently got one from a charity shop, the brand was new to me but for a couple of quid I gave it a go, it is DW Home and you can get them at TK Maxx.

Have been out for a lovely walk today with DH, DS and the dog. We had some fun and games with some feisty young cows which involved me poking them in the bum with a large branch to get them to move. DD has worked again, DH has gone to pick her up and is calling at Sainsburys for milk, sausages and bread - we have the BBQ on again, I think it may be the last chance for a while.

Bought a belt in a CS, it is really lovely, I have nothing like it, in fact I only have one brown and one black leather belt and this one is rose gold and glittery in a subtle way so will look good with black jeans or with dresses.
